    Hello,
Does anyone know which are the best rooms between the mgm west wing rooms and the new york park ave strip view rooms. They are both of a similar price. Thanks for your help.

we stayed in a Park Avenue room in NYNY . no complaints here , comfy bed , reasonable sized room , nice and fun Casino .
Better in my pocket than theirs :rotfl:

    Hi Folks

    The nightmare goes on!

Not sure if anyone here is knowledgeable about Expedia's rules and/or Columbus Direct Policies? (This may be better on the insurance thread perhaps?)

As previously posted, had to cancel the trip last Friday after turning-up at Gatwick to find the flight cancelled and no alternative for 72 hours.

My insurance policy has a £60/person excess - so even if they cover everything I'm gonna lose £240.

Expedia are going to refund the flight costs, so no problem there. But on the phone they are saying that the hotel is only refunding £124(ish) - so I reckon I'll lose about £400 on this. As I booked as a package through Expedia aren't they liable?

Also, I paid £50 return taxi to the airport - not sure if Columbus will cover this (less excess I suppose), and I lost £68 on the car hire I booked.

The way I see it, either Expedia have to refund the hotel (unlikely) or Columbus will deduct £240. The Taxi and care hire are flakey either way.

    Any knowledgeable adviced very welcome.:(

Some pictures of a west wing room from funkyfin last year.

It's those pictures that made me decide we will never stay in a west wing room! I'm pretty sure he confirmed that that green bit above the bed was the only window in the room.

Has anyone stayed in a bungalow suite or celebrity suite? (MGM) How do they compare with ordinary rooms, what is view like etc. I have always been disappointed at MGM.

I've read a couple of places that the CCS rooms are in the process of being renovated - how far along that is I don't know. mookybargirl posted about her stay in one not too long ago...found it.

Of course Expedia are liable!!! However much the hotel refunded to them you could not care less about - your contract is with Expedia not the hotel.

Expedia were unable to fulfill their side of the contract, ie flying you to Vegas and putting you in a hotel, so you will be refunded, and I would also suggest they pay you compensation on top of that....at least the amont of your excess.

Tell them to try a bit harder to fly you (or to get their airlines to fly you) over there next time, and maybe they wont lose on their hotel bookings.

Cheers Froggitt - hope your'e right. Must say I hadn't thought about that angle, contract being with Expedia.

Mind you their website has the usual weasel words about things beyond their control (like the weather)

I'm not normally a fan of the PowerPass as I think it's normally overpriced and makes people try to cram too much in in one day - but for some this might work out a good deal from goldstar.

    http://www.goldstar.com/e/33920

    3-day pass - normally $127.50 for $76.50.

Full list of what's included here:

    http://www.visiticket.com/LasVegas/attractions_all.aspx

Unless I'm mistaken the price of the Eiffel Tower + Strat tower + Manhattan Express + Hoover Dam coach tour OR Adventuredome pass + $10 Planet Hollywood credit would be enough value to cover the cost so if someone thought they would do all of those things (and would do them within a 3 day window) it might be worth it.

Though various discounts for these things can be found which might reduce the standard price anyway...but may be interesting to some.

There are 2 MGM promos at the moment offering the same incentives but room prices (for our dates at least) are nearly half the price compared to the other deal

    MGM Craxy 8 deal : https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=MGM035&kbid=1518004

8 Ways to save deal: https://reservations.mgmmirage.com/bookingengine.aspx?pid=001&host=promo&code=MKT386&kbid=542076&sub=ws

Our costs for 7 nights have gone from $823 to $493 in a flash

I rechecked the above links and they are still dearer than the 222 Offer for my dates.
