I think that premier rooms are standard but have a view...those they call 'p rooms' are the corner ones...confusing. :) I'm pretty sure I remember this coming up at Open Vegas before and someone who works for one of the hotels in the group (Harrah's, I think) explained it.
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?

We had 2 P rooms, one was at the end and one near the elevator, definitely much bigger than the luxury, Premier or the Red rooms. As you walk in there is a sort of entrance hall, plenty of room to store your cases and in our case golf clubs. The room was big with a large Armour, but not as nicely decorated as the Red room. As Luci says there is then a small room between the bedroom and bathroom with a nice size table in it, just right for dumping stuff. I do find the biggest let down in the Paris rooms to be the bathrooms though. Not really got the wow factor of say a Go , Augustus tower or MGM bathrooms.
Tip worked 3 times we stayed there, I usually go for $40 as we stay for 7-9 nights
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

I'm looking for 5 nights in September...(15-20th) a quick look shows The Trump at £370/$570 (including resort fees..) we wanted a nice hotel but a good price....

What do people think of that? Good price? And good hotel for a first timer? We're not too bothered about there not being a casino actually in the hotel.
As mentioned you will have almost zero chance of getting a 5 star for that price without finding a stonking deal. Just go for one of the 4 stars you won't notice the difference, they are all nice. I would really concentrate on location but if you have a car it is less of an issue.

Keep a look out on https://www.booking.com - we've got the Wynn for 7 nights in May for $864 and it's fully refundable. Booked it back in August. That price seems about the same as your budget.

Also use https://www.hotelscomparison.com and the links on P.1 of this thread. Even Expedia are worth checking as some of their deals are refundable with 7.25% Quidco cashback.

It's just been announced that a boxing superfight will take place on May 1 in MGM Grand between Floyd "test him! " Mayweather VS. "Sugar" Shane Mosley

Anyone thinking of going them best book up soon before room rates rise if they haven't already. Thankfully we are all booked.

We always seem to hit a big fight.

Typical, we're there a week later. Same thing happened with Mayweather-De La Hoya, and Pacquiao-Hatton. Would love to see a big fight in Vegas.

I'd best post my dates to let you know in advance! We have been there at least 5 times when there has been a big fight on. It has been the first weekend in May every year since 2006 and there was also one when we were there in September. We have been there for 2 Hatton fights.
