Not been around for a few days dd2 is teething & I have a stinking head cold !!!!! And we have had snow !!!!
However I have been collecting items for ebaying as I have been mooching around the house.... I have some items that I would like to start at more than 99p though does anyone know when a free listing day is coming ???
I was wondering though if any of you good people could help me??? I brought an item off ebay at the end of Jan, I contacted the seller aprx 10 days ago as I hadn't recieved it! She said she had posted it, so it has still not turned up & I mailed her again this week, she has now replied & told me I have gotta to claim back via the post office myself & she will send me a copy of the proof of postage on an email attachment!?! Is this normal I have to claim ????
Any advice would be great & I am sorry to hijack this thread!
Thanks for your help

She is wrong Ginga - she has to claim as she posted the item. You cannot do it. She needs to get a claim form from Royal Mail, in PO or online. Have a look on the royal mail website and send her the link if she doesn't know what she's doingNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550

I find this too, I was doing well with my girls swim suits and then I sold them all and ordered more which I put on and I did them in one listing with variable sizes, so 2-3, 3-4, 4-5 etc I've sold a couple of each but not as many as I did when they were just in one size but 6 listed (hope that makes sense).
I'm finding I'm far back on some of my things too, I hate the Best Match thing and don't know why Ebay put that as the search, I always change it to lowest price or ending soonest when i'm searching for anything.
I've sold a couple of things in the last few days but could do with selling a few more before I go away. I have some Rocket Dog boots that I want to list (they are new I got them on one of the Ebay Daily Deals before Xmas but would prefer the money back), not sure whether to list the today or wait until I get back.
I'm concentrating on my Private account and have about 30 items waiting to list, most are relists and did about 3 last night but want to get some more done so I can list them on Saturday, Sunday and Monday (before I go away) so that I will 'hopefully' get some bids on them for when I get back.
Got to buy the kids new shoes tomorrow too which is a pain so that's more money to pay out, it's like one step forward and 10 steps back.
I never keep the best match on for searching. I usually do ending soonest, if loads comes up I'll only look through 1 page or so of 200. If it's clothes I generally put in either shop name, or fabric, for me, tall if for my daughter.
Maybe we should all ask each other how we would search for items.
Childs swimsuit, on specifics I would choose swimwear & not specified, the actual age & not specified,. Search for the colour in title & description.
If that makes sense.
Do you always fill in all the specifics? A lot of people may not choose to search the not specified, especfially if lots comes up. In your title do you put everything in,
ie, girls swimsuit costume royal blue age 2-3
Some buyers don't put anything into specifics & so could get hundreds of pages to wade through.0 -

Thank you for your response, I have just called ebay ! They have told me to open an case as item not recieved case against the seller, & they have 10 days to response, if I dispute what the seller is saying then ebay can intervine (sp?) will investigate & decide!!!!
Oh the joys I just wish everything was straight forward, I waited longer than normal as my neighbour takes packages & parcels in for me when I am out & they have been away, so I wanted to double check!
Many thanks again for your help
Just wondering how to word it when I respond!!!!!:o0 -

I really dont have much stuff around the house to sell and the new bits i put on just arent selling.
When i search my items i see that other sellers are selling well but my listing is so far back that no one seems to see it.
I have some baby sleeping bags which i know are selling well but not mine.............. Why ??
Have they put more in the item specifics than you? Or more detail in the description? Or are they just ending sooner? It's really disheartening isn't it?:beer:0 -

Hi You could just say that you've looked at RM site & send her the link for missing post, if she still wants you to claim, open a dispute through ebay.
Was it all your parcels that went missing the other week? How was that resolved?

I try and put as much detail in the title as possible eg. Next Pink Stripe Jersey Dress Age 2-3, some people don't put much at all in their title and I never look at auctions that don't have a picture.
Had a strange one, had an e-mail from a buyer who bought something on 26th January, it was posted the day after and they e-mailed yesterday (or the day before it might have been) saying they hadn't received it, I e-mailed back to say that I could either send another or refund, I didn't hear anything else and now I have been given feedback from them saying 'thanks', now it's over 10 days since I posted it so seems strange that it came or maybe they were lying and thought I would just refund straightaway, the other thing is that when I got the e-mail I went to my Ebay account and couldn't see the message in 'My Ebay', I changed my Ebay password today as it seemed a bit strange.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
One thing I find with lost parcels is if you file a claim with RM they ask you to include the original receipt for the item, now if it's second hand or used and maybe old you won't have the original receipt, I've seen some people on the Discussion Boards say that they were sent 2 books of stamps instead of the cost of the item plus postage now I think this is really bad. As a Business you have to include the receipt which you should have but not as a Private seller, seems like they are taking the P, I haven't claimed recently though. Maybe it depends on who deals with the claim.
I wonder if this is why the seller wants you to claim it back so that they don't have to refund you the full amount and just get stamps back which won't be to the value of the lost item. I would always refund the buyer straightaway and then claim, you shouldn't have to wait the 15 days you have to wait before RM will deal with a claim and then wait for them to send the money, the seller should refund you now and then claim it back.Sealed Pot Challenge #0160 -
Did you email them at all from your owm email address ao they could have got your email that way? If not I would be tempted to message ebay & ask how that can happen. When you pay through paypal does it tell you the email add of who you're paying? It does say in the receipt that it will show as.... but can't remember if it's an email add.0
