Hi, what do people here find sells best? I'm not sure if it's the way I list stuff or what I sell but I don't seem to sell much at all. I have noticed that several of you do sell lots of BIN, I've never tried that format.
I've still not even attempted to list anything today, I have gone upstairs several times, looked & run back down to lie on the sofa for several more hours.
I think a new forum needs to be started, Money Saving Expert Forum addict. Could call it Ms Efa0 -
I find that "things" sell better than clothes, but I'm not sure if it's how I'm photographing my clothes (I lay them out on the bed or put them on a hanger) so I'm going to experiment with modelling the clothes and taking pictures. The things that sell best for me are things that I never thought would sell - toiletries and craft items. Oh, gig memorabelia like tour tshirts and promotional items go really well too. I'm not buying any stock though, just selling my old bits and bobs from around the house.
I have a question re buy it now - when I add BIN to my auctions, it won't let me just put a BIN price, I have to put an auction price too. Why's that?0 -
You need to click on the BIN tab, I think you are on the auction tab which allows you to put a BIN price too.
I sell my own stuff, mainly clothes, shoes and accessories - I have a couple of mannequins so the clothing looks better on those. If I can take the pics outside the items seem to do better tooNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550 -
l found clothes were a funny item to sell, with so many items being sold you need to make sure you sell in the right cat and give as many key words in the title so that when people search on key words yours comes up. Also l would only sell something with a name ie Next, River Island,French Connection as these types of cheap designer items are what 80% of the buyers seem to go for. Plus size clothing is another market. And l agree that presentation and a good well put together description of the item is important(no spelling mistakes- which l find hard)Ironing them also helps.Ist 2014 : Win Weekend in York0

Thanks for that, maybe I'll try taking pics outside. I know that craft items do well, due to all the times I've just had to buy stuff, that's now cluttering up my house rather than someone elses. It was a good idea at the time.0

Sorry another brain pick, on listings that you can p&p to how much on average do you add for the packing part. I AM going to list stuff today. Not at 99p starts though, as by the time Paypal & ebay fees are paid it's hardly worth the trouble. I know that it gets stuff out of my house but I'm not sure it's worth the effort for about 50p. Will have to ponder that one while out with the dog.
Have a good day everyone.0 -
I tend to charge about 30p packing on top of my postage costs. I use a lot of recycled packing materials and some new too
I very rarely do 99p listings. I much prefer paying 15p to list up to 4.99 and if it doesn't sell then I would rather try again or keep itNot been here in years! Hi everyone. Make £10 a day challenge = £78.45/1550
