  • You see having a diary is really motivational cos all you lovely people post and I really want write positive updates and show newbies that you really really can out of debt.

I was thinking not only is this the first time in about 10 years am I CC free it is also the least amount of money I have owed in a while too. My actual student loan has been paid off (you know the bit they take from your wages each month) I must chase that up really cos my wages don't appear to have gone up much hmmm.

So it is possible for your debts to really go down. The loan that is left is the one I took out (and moved twice) when I trained to be a teacher -that year was hard work but lots of fun! Since then I added to it (of course:o) it went from 8,(pay off uni CC) to 15(teacher training) to 20,000(to pay off life overspending:o:o) across 10 years,

I read some where that when you get into debt, you spend your wages before you have them - not just the month to month but actually the year on year amount. Its so true. If I wasn't in debt now all the stuff I bought years ago, the meals out the nights out I could easily afford now. I just didn't think at all. No patience and it seems during my 20's no clue of the value of money! Each year last month I paid off an average 666 pounds to my debt. If I had that as spending money.....................*faints*

This year, from January's pay I hope to pay off at least 1000 pounds per month.

It is so cold for some reason the heating hasn't come on again, boiler works but no circulation...... bled the radiators a couple of weeks ago and let out the normal lock we get. Its a worry.

Right best get on before I freeze

    See you all later

Well, of course, any diary that aims to get rid of Egg, is a good diary in my eyes......so I wish you all the very best in clearing it asap.

At least you can overpay, so a real motivator, rather than having to save up the full amount to clear in one go......that is the only good thing about Egg!!

    Happy New Year x

  • Well, I have been feeling pretty miserable lately, worried about work, really dreading monday. have been since Boxing day when I realised I had so little time left.

Family stuff has meant I haven't done as much work as I should have and to be honest my head just doesn't feel right. I am utterly miserable and just constantly putting on a brave face. Even paying off my CC hasn't made me as happy as I thought it would. It just feels as though my life is full of worry and I can't answer any of it. I keep telling myself other people have it worse then me but never has that saying about if you have stubbed your toe and your neighbour has broken his leg it is still your toe that hurts. And I am the only earner in my family so if I don't sort this out then we could have pretty serious problems.

Quite a while ago now I read loads of self help books:o Embarrassing I know! but they do help, I dont have a partner to share stuff with and my two best friends both have new babies and conversation obviously and rightly revovles around them. I have always dealt with my problems in the past, my Best Friend is surprised I am still in my job, she is right when she says I never stay in anything that makes me unhappy - I really never have, I don't do unhappy! but have stayed cos I can't find another job that pays as well and really need the money to be debt free and save for a house. I do, rightly or wrongly feel responsible for my family's well being.

So the plan. or at least an outline

    1. re - read Feel the Fear and do it anyway - a great book, I would seriously recommand it to anyone.

    2. de - clutter my room tomorrow. and do varnish those bloody shelves!!

    3. listen to a book on tape as I fall asleep - something self helpy, instead of watching tv - too distracting but not distracting enough.

    4. Get up an hour earlier to have a relaxed start to the day

    5. Follow the Fly lady plans - 15 minutes bursts, put clothes out, shine the sink,

    6. get back to cleaning my room and the conservatory each week. deal with the post

    7. Don't work at school anymore, bring work home to work in a good environment.

    8. Have at least 30 minutes to myself each day to relax and review.

    9. Be organised to aviod the horrible panicky feelings I get.

    10. Remember the following
