    Hi

Has anyone returned their jewellery instore for a refund without a problem?

    Thanks

Necklaces yes but they would not refund earings
  • I returned clip-on earings in store and there was no problem
  • I just got a refund email through for some items I returned by post, including 2 pairs of pierced earrings, no problems at all.
Looks like they're being very inconsistent on their policy for returning earrings!

The only item I ordered that's still showing as outstanding is a nutcracker , I'm still getting emails every 2-3 days saying it's been delayed to January 12th-14th, which is obviously long past! I've emailed them but they say they can't cancel it as it's with the despatch team, which it clearly isn't!

    Hi

I came in on the end of this thread and got a few bits of mystery jewellery on 2 different orders.
I liked about half of it and the rest i sent back the day after i got it.

Now I got my refund emails yesterday and after a whole lot of emailling to and forth they are point blank refusing to refund any earrings i sent back. including necklace with earring sets!!
It is so annoying as most of them were still in their sealed plastic wrappers too.
I have tried telling them about the distance selling thing but they are having none of it.
Sorry not much point to this post but to rant!! :o

Having had a look at various shopping sites, I think the DSR does allow companies to exclude earings due to hygiene reasons. However M&S seem to have refunded some and not others so the policy should be consistent for all.

I've returned a couple of items but the earings I returned were clip on ones so they refunded those.

I think you should definitely pursue this as their policy is not clearly stated. The section about the DSR on the rear of the dispatch notes makes no mention of excluding earrings.

I took one set back to a store and it was a struggle but they refunded in the end. I think they did it on the basis that the item had no picture so I wasn't aware that earrings were included until they arrived.

Perhaps you could ring them and they may be more understanding than by email.

can I ask for those people who have returned earrings by post to m and s - and they have not been refunded - what has happened - have the earrings been returned to you or have marks still got them???

I have had 4 pairs returned to me, and several others refunded. Makes no sense at all to me! Will just donate the unwanted ones to the school fair.

I have just had the dreaded 'can't give a refund' email, even though I have had a few refund emails today which have given refunds on earrings! haven't worked out which pair they are referring to yet. However, the email does say:
'To ensure that all of our customers are fully aware of our hygiene policy, we place warnings on the seals of the relevant products and also notices in certain areas of the store such as jewellery and bedding. Our website also shows this information and this reminder can be located in the payment and returns section.
I apologise if you did not see the information displayed on the website or in stores or were unaware that the seal displayed this warning. However, we do believe that we provide all the information necessary for our customers to make an informed decision about our products. Therefore, I am sorry to say that I cannot offer you a refund on this occasion and I have arranged for your items to be returned.'

I'm sure that there was no warning on the product when I received the jewellery? Has anyone else had this?

I had mine refunded after a lot of emails. :(

In the end they called me about all the emails and they man said "its about these earrings, I can't find them on the order" I pointed out that that was the problem as I did not know they were earrings since there was no discription or picture. He saw my point and refunded. ;)

I had been emailing for 4 days since I got their email telling me they had returned them and not refunded, they were telling porkie pies as I have not received them yet and that was last week. They could not have already posted them :D
