I'm pretty sure a lot of what I've ordered over the last few days is going to get cancelled. Now it's just a matter of keeping an eye on my orders to make sure that what's left is worth the delivery charge!

All the orders I placed until 5th Jan have been despatched without any items missing, except for a pair of Supima valance sheets which are saying 'not yet despatched'. M&S has been good to me so far as I was reluctant to order after I had a number of missing items in my order during the sale a few months back.

Thanks to all the people who posted bargains in this thread, especially claire.

My best bargain in this sale:

Classic Collection Round collar Boucle Jacket with New Wool for £9
    Mortgage: @ Feb. 2007: £133,200; Apr. 2011: £24,373; May 2011: £175,999; Jun 2013: ~£97K; Mar. 2014 £392,212.73; Dec. 2015: £327,051.77; Mar. 2016: ~£480K; Mar. 2017 £444,445.74
  • Yep - 2 freebies. I think I was told to keep them because I didn't ask for anything or shout at the customer services bod!
M&S have obviously had a lot of grief from some people about these sofas and footstools. Each to their own - I certainly don't want to sound preachy, but I just find it incredulous that some people actually believed they'd get a sofa and are then prepared to strongly argue for it.
Don't get me wrong, it would have been LOVELY, and we may have kinda hoped - but we all really knew we wouldn't get them. The majority of the replies on the other thread knew it was a giggle, probably initially aided by New Year's spirit of one kind or another!

I think you are probably right.

I didn't order any sofas but my small order from this thread is now down to a couple of items so not really worth delivery charge but I really can't be bothered to call M&S customer services - will just get refund in store and get them to refund delivery charge
  • Like all of you, I have bought lots of things from M&S but I don't actually think much of it will come through. The first had an estimated del date of 15th March!!, the others are tomorrow ( 4 x white maple chairs for £19 - tried to post them but became oos as I was doing it!), other dates are the 11trh, 13th and 14th.

The reason I am so sceptical is that (1) no despatch note has been received ( surely tomorrow's delivery of the 4 chairs should have been notified by now?!) and a pre Xmas order of a meccano robot which I was to pick up from store came to nothing at the last minute, and I was forced to go and get last minute Xmas presents because of it!!
So tho' its been fun, in reality I have probably wasted a huge amount of time and am no better off for it!!

Do they refund delivery charges instore?
Life is not the way it’s supposed to be. It’s the way it is. The way you cope with it is what makes the difference.

One of my orders has been despatched, the other that was placed the same day hasn't yet. I'm hopeful that I will get my items!
