Ok, here we go again :j. Starting a new diary to keep in track with my challenges for 2010.

About me: I'm 30:eek: living with OH in London, currently renting a one bedroom flat and aiming to buy our family house in 2010. Our relatives are abroad (2 different countries) so we travel quite a lot to see them, Easyjet and Wizzair earn quite a good money on us. I work full time with children, also doing an OU second degree, and feeling extremely broody nowadays, although the decision has been made not to try for a baby for an another year-we both want to secure our home first.

My debt is not huge, it currently stands at £1.344.44 which I aim to pay back by the end of May. I will never be debt free technically as we put everything on credit card, collecting airmiles for future travel. We do pay it off fully at the end of the month though. I am also committed to save £900 per month for our house deposit, and any extra I make goes towards the New York fund-we're planning to go to America in September for about 3 weeks. We guess we would need £2.000 each to pay for flight, accomodation, travel around and food, although will stay with OH's relatives for a week or so in Buffalo.

So here are the challenges for the New Year:

1) Short term goal:
Keza's challenge: save £8548.91 till end of May, 2010 including
[STRIKE]Lloyds loan: £1.344.33/£7.500[/STRIKE]ACHIEVED 12/02/2010
Savings: £5.400/£10.300
2) Long term goal: save £16.200 by end of 2010:eek:
3) Save £2.000 to go to America in September
4) Lose 11lb by end of March by going to gym 4 times a week and eating sensibly
5) Agree on wedding date, location, budget , can't stay engaged forever:p
6) Finish OU course and pass!
7) Finish MNT course and pass!
8) Sell 15 things on Ebay
9) Buy family house
10) Run half marathon again in September under 2 hours (did it in 2hrs 20 min in 2009)-already applied and paid entrance fee

So let the fun begin...;)

Thanks Keza and Snowmoredebt, we shall see what the future holds ;) Just came back from food shopping, I have to admit, I seriously failed the December NSD challenge, 3 out of 15:eek:. I guess I should be aiming for 3 in January as well, at least that's achievable.
  • Hi :hello:

    :hello: Starry Skies,

Yes, I've been struggling as well, it doesn't help that my sister had 3 kids within 3.5 years, yeah, I know, she is mad :D! Every year we have to take on a new godchild, OH is getting fed up, he said I must not be the godmother of the 4th one ;). It's a strange feeling though, I'm so emotional-never used to be, now everything makes me cry:o.

Fish is cooked for tonight, cake in the oven, I should go to the gym I guess. Not that I want to:D.

Glad that you like it:rotfl:. The thing is that my sister and B-I-L had the idea that if something happened to them, they wanted the godmother to look after their kids, as he hasn't got a sister and my sis has me, it was obvious choice. At first I was happy with that, but wouldn't have thought that they'd go for as many kids in such a short time:D. Just hoping they will stop now for a while:rotfl:.

Can't go to gym just yet, cake is still in the oven.
  • It is alot of kids in a short space of time- she must have alot of energy!

Cake is much more important than the gym :D I shouldn't actually be saying that, I'm trying to lose a few pounds myself. I have the airwalker set up in front of me and everything but to be honest it's just obstructing my view of the TV
