Actually no I feel bloody crap, I feel like a complete failure, I miss him, feel like ive been a horrible horrible cow and actually just want to sit down with him and say I hate what you have done to our relationship and how its fallen apart and how I wish we could turn the clock back.

Had a lovely book and card bought from him and B today (which made me feel worse) and then mum and brother arrived lunchtime and we all went to sea to have lunch. He then left and we came home with my brother. He went to kiss me goodbye and I shunned him and I instantly felt awful...

Ah bloody hell why is life so complicated. Whenever he isn't around its like my memory seems to erase all the crap times.

Looks like he IS hoping to keep the option of returning open.

Remember it wasn't you that pushed this relationship over a cliff and that you have all the power you need to decide what you want and what is best for you and your daughter, whether that includes him or not.

Relax and enjoy the rest of Mothering Sunday. After a good night's sleep you may be clearer about how you feel. And the end of any relationship always feels hard and there will always be regrets and if onlys.

Oh Sally, hugs to you. I felt the same way when I threw ex out and it was nowhere near a serious relationship with kids, so you must be feeling so much worse.

We all know you're strong enough to cope on your own, probably better than you do with him. You're a great mum to Bea, and she'll be fine, as long as you're happy. Don't let the rose tinted specs get in the way - remember what he did and how you felt, and how you'll feel if it happens again.

Even though you've been building up to this for so long it's still a shock when it actually happens, you've put so much energy into preparing for it that you haven't had time to actually adjust to the fact of it happening iyswim. Just try to get through today, sleep on it and see how you feel in a few days.
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Sally if you could just sever your feelings for the man you wouldnt be the caring person that you are. I know that you have thought long and hard about your decision but that wont stop that panic when you actually get to the point, which has sort of been sprung on you with this new job coming out of the blue.

You need time to re-adjust and reflect on what has happened.

Nothing is set in stone though remember, whatever happens we will be here for you:A

For tonight, I prescibe wine, chocolate and a soak in the bath.
But these things take time, I know that I'm, the most inept that ever stepped.

lots of cushions may be needed...B asked me what was wrong and I just said I was a bit sad, she said she was sad too so we've had a cry together and she has been the runner for the tissues!
