Well I thought today I should start getting my finances in order....so I have taken off extra download from our talktalk saving me £4 a month...phoned eon and reduced our dd as after winter was £49 in credit so obviously paying too much so have reduced it by £12 per month for now (although it will probably half not having OH here)

tomorrow I shall go and see housing benefit people, actually I can probably fill in forms online and get it changed into my name, then I suppose I better phone CTC/WTC people, not that I think that will change?

don't forget council tax - reduction for single person, if you don't already have a reduced rate.

Sounds like you're getting sorted. Sometimes it's good to do practical stuff until you are ready to deal with the emotional stuff

Have you told B what's happening yet?

Sally - I have just read your thread having caught on all this on the Daily Chat Thread. You are really going through the mill but you have been strong and are over perhaps the hard part. The realisation that it is over takes some coming to terms with, but you have done that WELL DONE. Can I just ask has OH started at the new job? thinking of you and am more than happy for you to PM me if you would rather. Lucky Bea has a wonderfully happy mummy! People used to say to me that my boys would realise in the end that exOH was evil and how rough a time I had with him - never believed they would and the times they told me what wonderful things that evilOH did with them, was like a knife, but now it is a very different story. they are fully aware of who has stood by them and helped them and paid for everything and my new OH is more like a dad than their real dad. Keep plodding you are doing fine. Billie xxxx:A

Not much to report after yesterdays shananigans! OH seems to be sorted, leaves on Sunday and stays in B&B then is going to my sister for couple of nights. He will look for room/place on Monday/tuesday. Mum/Im lending him £1000 to be paidback over next 3 months so there is no excuse about not being able to get a place. I can relax a bit and just get things sorted this end. Need to do a new SOA but until I know exactly what benefits I shall get Ive no idea really

This is SOA as it stands with a few adjustments to Elec/Broadband already.

Im sure something isn't quite right there. Ive based it on the fact that OH willpay me £150 maintenance...that might not be quite right. Ive also taken the fact that he will pay his part of the remaining debt of £2000 and I willpay £1500 as I am not earning as much. Haven't lowered Council tax yet as Im sure it will all change when Housing benefit etc is adjusted. Might not have anything left over tbh...would be novel though hey!

And if I don't pay off the remaining debt with my egg money then I shall up the payments to try and pay it off by the end of the year

Hello Sally, thought I'd drop by and wish you luck.

Looking at the Budget, it should all work out....particularly as you are so used to doing it all yourself anyway!

Btw, it may be wise to sort out some Life Assurance on yourself now. It may seem unneccessary but think about it. You can get Term Assurance extremely cheaply if you have a look around.
