I'm now looking daily at a list of sites I have and chucking my CV at anything that remotely connects to my experience. In the last week, I've applied for 2 HR officer jobs with agencies (both said no as I don't have my CIPD qual even though I do HR stuff in my morning job), a Sales admin co-ordinator (the job has now changed to 'must have experience in the electronics industry), the manager of a group of receptionists at a company in Poole and 2 more communications related jobs at the RNLI.
Times to start looking for todayEdit: chucked my CV at a PR Manager job......sigh.......I said I would NEVER go back to PR but maybe it is the only solution.....there's also a copywriter job going with a finance company, but it's a sub prime one with a poor reputation. I don't think I could work there and show my face here if I had the job!
Good luck with the applications, if I see anything on my travels around your or R's area which is term time I'll let you know.
I really really hope something comes of some of those jobs BB....its so flipping depressing but there are sooo many people going for each job its crazy. I guess I shouldn't get dispondant because reality is that i have a job at the moment, just not very interesting and tricky to juggle the hours!I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Ok will someone please have a read through and let me know if I need to make any major changes. This is for a Teaching Assistant position
I have worked in various different roles in a pressured environment, having the responsibility to meet important deadlines and often under great stress, but nothing has been more rewarding than working with children and being able to help a child through their education in a positive manner.
Previously working in a school environment my role was Media Resources Teaching assistant where I worked in a classroom situation and was responsible for demonstrating and assisting the class alongside teaching staff with media projects. This involved preparing literature using various software, making sure all equipment and IT systems were working, liaising with staff and helping children develop their ideas and guiding them into creating something they were proud of whilst learning new skills. I also provided one to one support or mentored small groups, where I could help children and teachers with more specific needs, whether that be advanced skills for those wanting to create something to stretch and extend them or those that needed nurturing and extra help to ensure their work was completed. There was always a challenge and boundaries to be pushed and the satisfaction of being able to help a child see their creation from start to finish was truly thrilling.
For the last year I have volunteered in a local first school working alongside the Year 4 teacher, some of these hours I have used as the compulsory time needed within school for the current Open University courses I am studying. This has enabled me to have a more hands on approach and whilst being guided and instructed by the teacher, I have been able to initiate my own ideas and encourage the groups I have worked with. This course together with child development and learning covers many aspects such as relevant policies, codes of practice and legislations which I shall endeavour to familiarise myself with over the next year. As part of a distant learning course you are constantly having to self evaluate your work, and yourself in order to succeed whilst being able to realise where further training and assistance is needed, this has helped me to understand my strengths and weaknesses and to act on these in the most relevant way.
I thrive on challenge and am able to work competently on my own initiative as well as part of a team. My current employment and experience within school has enabled me to work face to face with adults and children helping me to develop such skills such as patience, understanding and to use my own initiative. I am a keen runner and this has taught me commitment, determination and total mental strength. As a mother with a child having just completed the foundation stage, I have a good understanding of the curriculum and have been able to support her at home through this year at school.
I have excellent communication skills both written and verbal and actively enjoy working to present information in a way that engages all age groups and abilities, from small children to large national clients in a formal setting both one to one and in groups. I have the ability to learn new skills quickly and am always eager to succeed in any challenge that presents itself.
While I feel that I can be successful in this position I am keen to enhance my knowledge and skills so that I can support relevant children.
As a caring Christian parent I hope that I can offer support and understanding in this position, whilst helping pupils to reach their full potential, and being a helpful and committed member of the school.

Morning Sally, that sounds good.
You do slip into 'you are' as opposed to 'I am' at the end of the 3rd Paragraph and I would be a little wary of the use of the term 'Christian' unless you feel that it is entirely neccessary.....you know how strange some people can be when assessing Applications.
Keep up the pressure on the jobs front and keep exOH on his toes! x:D stay wonky
