First day back at work and was a long shift - so am exhausted ... phew!!!
Kids went to Grans for their tea (thank you thank you thank you) so at least was saved the palaver of running round making a dinner at 7pm when it's a struggle to stay upright!
Sat with DH last night and went through his diabolical finances trying to make head nor tail of them. Can't decide whether to start a thread for him - he has his head buried so far in the sand it scares me!!
Gave him £110 out of my minimal reserves to avoid drastic bank charges. Told him absolute one off.
(I know it's megga wierd that we have separate accounts, but that's the way it is!)
Anyway, as a result of doing all that, was back to sleepless night again last night. Not so much because I don't think it's manageable, but because I don't think he'll do anything about it!0 -

... Mine
We have 2 head in the sand joint debts covered under Bank 1 - which I manage, which aren't even included in the sig!!:(
He has his own separate debts.
It makes me want to alternately howl / vomit when I write the next bit, but we're really not very close at all, and after 15 years married, I'm not sure we ever have been. And now we're together through habit and debt than anything else. We're both very independent and separate people, and team work has never been our forte! I used to believe that we were happy - but now when I look back there have been some fab times, some good times, some fun times ... but more of the not so good!
One major solution would be to sell the house, clear all the debts and go in separate directions. I'm not sure either of us are brave enough for this though. We still love each other, but are not in love. Also, he's not the calmest wave in the ocean ... again, if that makes sense (make more of what's not written than what is!) and he would rather create a whirling torrent of emotion, than have us part as friends
Everything on page 1 is mine and in my name and covered under my account iyswim.
His aren't anywhere to be seen, but I now know them

Aw bless, what a hard spot to be in. Im of two minds on this sort of thing - on the one hand, everyone deserves to persue all the love they want in life and you shouldnt feel limited by all the years and love you've invested in this one. On the other, I think its totaly natural to feel more like friends after 15 years - imagine how exhausting it would be to be swinging from the chandeleirs for all that time!
Maybe in the meantime, without making any big decisions, you could try doing a bit to re-kindle the romance? I know its not easy, but if hes the passionate type maybe it would be fun, and making nights in more fun is very MSE indeed!Mortgage free by 30:eek:: £28,000/£100,000Debt free as of 1 October, 2010

We have our own separate bedroom (albeit he asks regularly for me to go back to be fair). But that's how far apart we now are
I nearly PMSL! The only passion he has ever exerted has been either to display a temper tantrum, his football team has been doing well or the birth of our daughter. The rest of the time has been pretty neutral.0 -
Day 104 Wednesday 14th April
Money Spent - £1.50 for bread; £1 lottery ticket; boots point talc; boots point face wash

Number of sweets / cakes etc. - A Cadbury brunch bar

Another long work day, but productive. Came home and DD had done some fab gardening (thank you!!!!)
However, on the other hand she'd also run over to the Spar and bought a loaf of bread for £1.50 (arghhhhhh) using school bus money, when I'd left rolls in the cupboard. Had to explain to her that that was 3 loaves worth of money for one loaf of bread, when there wasn't a need. The £1 for the lottery I'd found in the car when cleaning that out, so there was a bit of a bonus there.
Now driving DH into work to save his train fares. As I type he's on the phone to his bank to try and put in place a payment arrangement - keep all fingers and toes crossed please, else we're really schtum!0 -

Beautiful sunset caused by the volcanic ash apparently.
Another work day, so not a lot of anything happening. Keeping fingers and toes crossed that the ash doesn't make children poorly!
Have registered 2 cards for the Debenhams bonus thingamy, so that would be £10 if it works - but didn't include in sub-total.
Needed bread (again) so ran to Mr A's at the time I hoped the penny whoopsies were happening, and struck lucky in the bread section - yay! 55p for 2 huge carrier bags (included a net of satsumas!!)0 -

Rubbish day at work!
DH (after vociferous nagging) HAS done something about finances. No more cards (they're all gone). Bank has been phoned and emergency actions put in place. Thankfully they've cancelled all his horrific charges.
My next task is to try to get him to understand that 10p counts. Within literally 5 mins of getting off the phone he said, that's great, we can get better food now ... errrrr no ... it just means we won't lose the house!! He got it after another bout of vociferous nagging!
Got a fabby tent off of Freeble (do you remember the February debacle of the accidentally thrown away tent???)! Am so chuffed!0 -
