    If it doesnt work I can send you a boot CD which will allow you to get your important data of the drive - There is NO reason to loose this.

    Ok, I managed to find my boot cd thing.

    Have tried the steps from here;

    http://www.computing.net/answers/windows-xp/logged-off-before-fully-logging-on/117147.html

    However I still can't log in. Tried doing it again and it asked whether I wanted to overwrite the file, which I did, so it's definitely there. :undecided

    My god, actually managed to log on after creating some boot cd thing that allowed me to change the registry. :eek:

    The only problem now is I cannot load the regedit doo-dah! :undecided

    Think this could be due to a virus/viruses, so am currently running Malwarebytes and will then do the same with AVG! :confused:

    There are some instructions from MS here

    A virus could certainly stop Regedit running, so see how MalwareBytes goes.

    Well I'm back up and running. :D

    Did a scan with AVG and it found a couple more viruses. Deleted those. Then to be safe, scanned with Malwarebytes aswell which picked up another couple. :confused:

    I'm just a bit worried there will be more that are being missed. Can anyone advise any other scanner I should run?

    Regedit is now working, used ccleaner and cleared a load of crap off.

    Last problem seems to be I can't use Disk Cleanup. It just keeps giving me the error reporting message. :confused:

    Run a new quick scan with MalwareBytes, after making sure it is up to date, and post the log here.
    Then download HijackThis, scan, don't fix anything, just post the log here. We can then get a better idea if there is still anything bad.
