Windows XP keeps logging me off

Got infected with what I believe to be Internet Security 2010. Installed McAfee to try and get rid of it. Now when I logon it logs me in for less than a second before it logs me off again (wallpaper briefly flashes). This happens on all user accounts.
The same happens in Safe Mode, and I can't for the life of me find my boot cd. I think I need this to fix it but not sure. I think I can get another cd from Microsoft but obviously left without a pc until I do.
Anyone got any idea how the hell I can fix this please?

Hi stuartk, thank you very much for your quick reply.
Am downloading a couple of these now. I assume I just burn them to CD then when starting up, boot from the CD drive?!?!?0 -

Yep
Use ImgBurn to burn the .ISO files if u dont have any image burning software and boot from CD
I try the Kaspersky first
Let me know how it goes

Not 100% sure what I'm doing. Ha ha.
But it's done it's thing and is now doing a scan of the drives. Does this sound right? :-/0 -
Oh crap. Ok took over an hour to do the scan but found nothing (from what I could work out) and it still isn't letting me log on.

Do I just keep going through that list until one (hopefully) works?0 -
Hi There
Is it XP or Vista or 7

It's XP Home mate.0

Have you tried accessing the emergency boot menu (F8 on startup), and instead of safe mode, select "last known good"0
-
OK you tried a System Restore via Safe Mode with Command Prompt
At the C\Windows\System32\restore: prompt type rstrui.exe
Restore to an earlier time
Let me know how you get on
