skint-spice: I've wracked my brains and I don't know what "that would be an eccumenical matter" implies :o I know I'm going to feel REALLY silly when I find out what it means.

It would mean, roughly, "That is a matter relating to the Church", and one of Father Ted's best get-out clauses when he hasn't got a clue what is going on! ;)

A very, very tall male friend of mine was palying basketball and did a slamdunk, grabbing hold of the ring after scoring. He slipped, falling down with his arms straight ahead of him and broke his right arm and left elbow and wrist...two weeks before his GCSEs!

Hiphouse, never worry about hijacking for something like that!! We are all glad to be of assistance. I hope your friend makes a good recovery and that you are all able to look back and laugh in due course x

So......it snowed more, overnight, but at the moment the flight is still "on the board"....so fingers crossed. I will, of course let you know once he has successfully gone.

I woke at 2am - obviously today's travel arrangements were playing on my mind. So am tired today, and may well have a nap later to catch up.....gah!

Off to do scratches, banking and coffee drinking.....hope you have a good day everyone x

Completely bizarre but a friend had throat cancer and had several operations which rendered her speechless. She has a bettery powered gadget that she places against her throat which vibrates producing an audible voice. Its called an electrolarynx. Perhaps a hospital occupational health department could lend you one to try? or suggest something else.

£10 scratchcard money received in the bank so transferred to the debt pot.

Banking shows that after the remaining direct debits for the month we have £198 to last us until payday at the end of Jan......this is to do all food, petrol, other sundry stuff.......hmmm....

Not great, but it reminded me of a time about 8 years ago when I looked at my bank account after December's payday, and realised that I had no money there to pay the mortgage or all the bills due on 1st Jan.....I hotfooted it to the bank to plead with them not to bounce my payments, but of course it fell on deaf ears.......by luck.....(!).......on the doormat the next day arrived some credit card balance cheques along with an increased credit limit.......so we could pay our bills, but of course increased our high interest debt at the same time

We breathed a sigh of relief, back then, that we had managed to get through another month.......

How times have changed for the better!

    Very true Hypno.:D

Hip House - glad you have things sorted. The only other thing i can think of is actual pictures - a bit like the PECS system, showing washing, walking etc. As well as the sentences.

Hope her situation improves, that is a terrible thing to happen for her and something we don't really think about. :o
