Hypno's "me, me, me, me, me," diary.....

Morning! I hope that mortgage figure is the right one - and here's to payday
And I second what sally said about the mixed emotions tonight - be kind :coffee:2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
I will be kind to myself tonight - don't worry.
Clothes budgets - I have 4 potential categories........work, casual, children, ski.
Ski stuff generally comes out of the ski pot, and I include it as overall ski costs. I will continue to do that as we have always managed so far.
Children - usually buy their own clothes but of course I buy school stuff, and basics like underwear, shoes, etc. DD goes to 6th form in Sept so no uniform for her, but I will probably pay for her "uniform" of jeans and the like.
My work stuff - the most expensive, but potentially the longest lasting. When I *do* spend on work stuff, I tend to buy classics and spend more money on them so they last longest. This now needs updating because it is so long (many many years) since I bought anything, and things no longer fit either. Cheaper stuff has also "crept in" which sometimes works (primark t-shirts under an Austin Reed suit for example) and sometimes doesn't. I am ditching the stuff that doesn't and having to replace it with the stuff that does. I often buy a suit that has, for example, a jacket, plus a size 12 and a size 14 skirt, so that I get the use out of it on fat days as well as thin days.......
Casuals - probably bottom of the priority list in years gone by, but definitely having to move up. Again, doesn't need to be a lot, but I do want jeans that fit, and tops that go with them, rather than jeans that don't fit, and tops that have seen better days, and show rather too much muffin top if I sit anything other than straight up and breathing in.
And of course, underwear - expensive, but needs updating to fit as I change shape.
So.......I plan on making proper lists of what I am aiming for, so that I can be sensible, look out for things in sales, potentially do a visit to an outlet village or two, look onine through quidco etc.
Some things can be acquired while I am still losing weight - shoes, coats, handbags etc, and others will def wait until I am at the weight I am likely to stay at - jeans, work dresses, etc.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

Oh I like the plan of acquisition, Hypno, especially this bit:
"Some things can be acquired while I am still losing weight - shoes, coats, handbags etc, and others will def wait until I am at the weight I am likely to stay at - jeans, work dresses, etc. "
Isn't planning wonderful2023: the year I get to buy a car0 -
right, on the basis that my total debt figure has gone up, I am assuming that the mortgage figure is correct.
Once everything has been taken into account, the total debt has increased by £179.23 which I think is about right, allowing for the costs involved in all this.
So, figures are as follows:
Mortgage - £179341.91 (of which £175,000 is "mortgage" and the balance is the remains of the old secured loan, now all lumped into one)
Mum - £4000 to be repaid in May when (if) I get my bonus
Barclayloan - £7469.52
Virgin 0% (runs out in June) - £2857.97
Which gives a grand total owing of £193669.40, of which, technically £14327.49 is unsecured, but actually, I count the old secured loan bit as such as well, so my total debt excluding mortgage for those that want to follow my signature is £18669.40.
Given the circumstances, I don't think that's too bad
I have to repay mum in May, so the total will go down a lot then, but I don't think I can manage to get the 0% paid off before the 0% runs out, so I will have to look at a balance transfer I think. At least my credit file now allows me to do that, which is a far cry from my earlier attempts. When the barclayloan, 0% and debt to mum is gone, and the mortgage shows £175k outstanding, I will consider myself debt free.
I will do a new snowball calculator later today.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
My plan for underwear is to try and buy one or two fitted properly from a shop and then hopefully find the same size & style in different colours online cheaper.
Oh Hypno, remember to include nice running/gym kit on the full list.
My jeans are currently in the wash, hoping they'll shrink enough to fit a bit better, currently in baggy T-shirt and size 14 trousers that are now ridiculously too big. But I'm only around the flat doing laundry. Got to carry on wearing them until I get back, as too expensive to replace here, and want to lose more weight first too. Looking forward to wearing something that fits and looks nice again though.0 -

Thats an amazingly small sum, when you consider what you'vehad to do, and the extra costs incurred.Which gives a grand total owing of £193669.40, of which, technically £14327.49 is unsecured, but actually, I count the old secured loan bit as such as well, so my total debt excluding mortgage for those that want to follow my signature is £18669.40.

Absolument, mon capitaine :rotfl: To put it mildly :rotfl:I have to repay mum in May, so the total will go down a lot then, but I don't think I can manage to get the 0% paid off before the 0% runs out, so I will have to look at a balance transfer I think. At least my credit file now allows me to do that, which is a far cry from my earlier attempts.
