Right.....Tesco online shop done ready for delivery this evening - £95 spent, but includes "big" things like washing powder and dishwasher stuff that I only need to buy once a month, plus plenty of basics to see us through with only fruit/bread/milk to buy on top up shops. It worked well for me last month doing it this way, so I hope it works just as well this month, otherwise my grocery budget will have disappeared rather too early!
Leftover spag bol brought into work for my lunch today.......am being very good!
I do this too, I think its easier as you only have to think of what shopping you need once a month, only have to put it away once, and It also stops me buying rubbish every week. (can you tell I am kind of lazy??)
Also, it kind of justifies the delivery charge when you can't find a free code!LBM Total: £33356 15/11/09  £6085.63 paid
Pay off 10% by March 2010 (3336) yes!!!:j
Pay 19k by Dec 2010 19000/5732.39 30.12%

I read it as houmous surfbabe......must remember to bring home my glasses occasionally :rotfl: I hope you have a good time!!
I hope that the big monthly shop does continue to work, chops.......I hate going to the supermarket - I find it disproportionately stressful, so online shopping really does work for me. However, doing an online shop weekly ends up costing me more as I never manage to reduce what goes in my virtual trolley. Once a month, though, it is a reasonable amount, and I can get the top up bits and pieces from the Tesco Metro near the office, thereby reducing the stress in the big shop, and also reducing the temptation to spend more when I do the top up shop because the choice simply isn't there.
I think :rotfl:
I didn't get chance to have my spag bol today - no time for lunch at all, so I had a cake that someone had brought into the office for a birthday, and I will have the spag bol tomorrow if I remember that I have put it in the fridge at workSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. I think I might start doing a monthly online shop...my shopping is such a small amount but I HATE going every week...I could bare popping in for bread, milk etc.I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Yes, very busy, beanie, but not too bad.....just busy.
Sally, for the first time ever, I feel as though I have turned the corner, as far as budgets are concerned. I know it is all down to the change in circumstances, and the fact that I HAVE to make it work, with no one else to blame/fall back on etc. Failure is not an option :cool:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Hypno, that's exactly how I feel now.
Our budget was very tight but there was always a certain amount of flexibility in our finances, we'd overpaid the mortgage so some could be drawn back out, we had various savings pots that could be used if an emergency struck, we were overpaying our debts so we could have used cards, etc.
Now there's just me, and if I mess up, I can't afford to repay anything. The only savings I have are the ones I'm buying Stu out of the house with, and there is nothing to spare anywhere. So one false move and I'd be on the slippery slope to financial disaster.
So I have to make it work. And I am...mostly.With the odd little blip along the way.

I know you said washing powder but the Washing liquid now (that uses 70% less packaging etc etc...) seems to do a better job and, for the same amount of washes, is cheaper!
Throw my little bit of MSE in...:T:beer: Debt Free since July 2011 and it feels good!
Now it's all about finding a deposit for a house!
How do you amass £70k in a year?! :eek:0 -

Absolutely - it is fear that drives me right now - I have so much to lose, and am not prepared to lose it.Walshyboy84 wrote: »I know you said washing powder but the Washing liquid now (that uses 70% less packaging etc etc...) seems to do a better job and, for the same amount of washes, is cheaper!

Sadly my DD has very bad eczema, so we tend to stick with the very few things that don't cause a flare up. With the stress that surrounds us right now, she has very sore skin, so I have ordered the powder we know won't make it any worse. I would love to buy the cheaper option, but sometimes that just isn't practicalSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes.
