Morning all. Last day off before back to work tomorrow. I've enjoyed my break. Milann, I hope all goes well with your DD and that your journey is not too stressful. Positive vibes for you x
Woke up to another layer of snow and it is very cold again.....the house just doesn't seem to get fully warm at the moment.....must go and bleed radiators today to see if that makes a difference.
Today I need to name all DS's clothes to take away with him, otherwise they will get lost in the laundry over there.....so all socks, boxers, etc have to be named - oh joy!
I also want to get the decorations down and packed away......and to declutter the various boxes of glittery tat that we have. That will be quite a satisfying job I think.....as long as I am ruthless as I am telling myself I want to be.
Scratches first, and a check on the banking.....and several coffees. I hope you all have a good day!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -
Good morning Hypno,
I managed to get some sleep last nightHope you did too.
Looks like after bingo britain it seems virgin is tightening up too. According to scratchcard thread you now need to deposit and play £5 each month else they'll stop you. More info on the mse scratchcard thread.
They've also stopped the free afternoon games in one of the rooms, the 20% tuesday cashback, and the 50p wednesday refund if you play. The last 2 they said were being replaced by something in the new year in an old email.
So another site not completely vanishing, but the odds are currently not quite so good in our favour with the combination of the £5 rule and the Tues and Wed promos vanishing
Well done on your photo clear out, and I hope the brandy and milk worked.0 -
Morning Se, yes I slept well too - again, not for long enough, but I am grateful for what I had! I hope you feel better for some sleep today!
Its a shame about the scratches, but they have been good for so long, and I am surprised they have not tightened up sooner. I will have to turn my hand to thinking of other ways of making money - I think ebay and car boots will have to come back to the forefrontSuccessful women can still have their feet on the ground. Morning Hypno and all.
Re photos - have total respect/sympathy/regard for that. I have a box of my Fathers and DH's. DH's has his ex BIL wedding photos, his honeymoon with ex wife and people I just don't know. At somepoint it has to be done. Just not yet.
With you on the tree front, it's all coming down today.
However my chocolate scientific research is on going....may well last until Easter, as a huge Toblerone has been discovered hiding on the windowsill. Now there are many varieties of toblerone so if you don't see me....DC.

Just read about your house being cold, it might be old fashioned, but whenever rooms aren't in use always close the curtains as an extra layer of insulation, and keep doors closed, especially bedrooms ones as heat naturally rises, so more heat trapped downstairs.
It's been my winter routine for years, and does seem to work.0 -
I'm glad that the scientific experiment is continuing, DC! I am all out of chocolate/biscuits/anything yummy, so it will be interesting to see if my energy flags a bit now :rolleyes:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Se, it is not a cold house, really, but I like to be really warm, and when I am tired I feel cold even if it is not cold, iyswim! So I think it is my perception of how cold/warm the house is, as much as anything else - we do already keep doors shut etc already. Maybe I need to do more housework, in order to stay warm.......:eek:Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. Morning All
I didn't think of decluttering the Christmas decs. Was just going to take them down and shove them in a box - but declutter I will!
Thanks and enjoy the last day :A

My house is cold, currently as I type this in bed, the thermometer is saying 11.2 degrees. I can warm up one room at a time but the problem is getting anything done. Once I'm tucked up warm in the living room there is no incentive for venturing into the arctic wastes of the kitchen and as for such Flylady business as "clean windows inside and out".......0

macgirl, I normally just throw them back in the box and be done with it too - but I noticed this year that there is a lot that never even made it out of the box.....so I have to ask the question "why?".......and the answer is that they are horrid or tatty or just don't work any more.....so if they weren't good enough for this year, it is unlikely that they will be good enough for next year or any other year!
So, each box will be carefully sorted, so as not to miss anything "special" and then disposed of via charity shop/bin as appropriate. Then everything that I want to keep can be stored neatly, and hopefully less boxes will make their way back into the loft, and next year's decorating will be much easier because I won't be wading through the rubbish to find the decorations I like!Successful women can still have their feet on the ground.
