Hypno's "me, me, me, me, me," diary.....

Blimey, I've done the school run and Mr T's and you have set a new plan with a still amazing DFW date.
Those 3 days next week will be good for you as you will be able to what you want whenever, even if that means sceaming in the day and painting in the night.
£100 surplus without MSE is more than you had before in some of your older diaries. That is a good start.

Zombified is a very good way of describing it KC. I had hoped that by going for a run and decorating on Sunday, ie doing some real "physical" stuff, that I would have slept better on Sunday night, at least, but it was not to be.......oh well.....
I have done my trusty back of envelope calculations, and although it will be tight, I am going to give this a go based on the "new" scenario.
It will mean I have:
1. £175,000 mortgage plus £5,000 remaining of the secured loan.
2. £7733 barclayloan
3. £2908 - virgin 0%
4. £4000 - Mum
Total debt - £194,641 ie £1151 more than it is now.
In May - clear £4000 loan to Mum, and possibly virgin 0%.
Look at then getting another 0% deal to transfer barclayloan onto - but in the meantime, that loan does reduce by approx £260 per month by "natural" payments.
Based on a standard month, with no bonus, but including child benefit and maintenance, I have a surplus after direct debits of £430, or £100 per week.
This £100 has to cover everything - food, petrol, bus fares for all, ski races, football training, Christmas and Birthday presents, clothes, school uniform. So it is tight. £100 a week sounds a lot, but to include all that, will be hard. But it can be done, as these boards prove time and time again.
To supplement this, and to build up an emergency savings fund, I need to continue with the MSE extras.....
This year's bonus is now obviously accounted for, but in future, bonuses will help to pay for the nice things in life, holidays, trips to the theatre etc.....and will also go towards uni fees/costs as we approach that age. I also still need replacement windows which become more of a priority as every month goes by, but which are still hanging on.....held together by grime and cobwebs I think.
For those tracking my "original" debt figure, I would aim, based on the above, to achieve that by the end of 2011.....I refuse, point blank, to let this drag on any longer.
My fixed rate comes to an end in July 2013. By that time, I will be well in control of all things financial. And I reserve the right to look at property !!!!!! with a view to moving to my dream location.
Right, best earn a living then.......
Sounds like a good plan to me Hypno. :T Very tight in the short-term, but achievable. In the long term I'm sure you'll look back and think that maybe things, (as in fianancial things) happened for the best as it pushed you to clear some debt more quickly. I understand the quality of life will not be as good as if you would have got the new mortgage, but it's all swings and roundabout. As far as ranting is concerned it's theraputic and better "out than in" as they say. So I think it's a good thing. I'm sure if I was in your position I would be ranting a lot lot more.
You've come up with a "do-able" solution in times of severe stress and trauma. You should be very proud of yourself.:AThe past is over & done & cannot be changed. Too late for a good morning, so good lunchtime Hypno
Done scratchies and some other mse bits. Highlight was a 50p scratchie, so still plodding along.
Managed to use BA miles for the flight I needed, so it saved £152 pounds on the flight, got to add it to my savings siggy.
Did Day 2 of the 28 day yoga book today, again really enjoyed it once I started, it's just getting back into a routine of daily yoga, looking forward to you gettting your video on Wednesday.
Just got to do some aerobic type exercise later to burn some calories and help shift the blubber more quickly.
Sounds from your plan that you're starting to get things worked out with your new budget0 -
I hope my yoga dvd is there today when I get home from work so I can do a little of it before bedtime this evening.....if not, it should be here tomorrow, and yes you are right - it is all about getting back into the routine of things.
I've been doing a bit more aerobic type exercise as I am now getting the bus which includes a reasonable walk to and from the bus stops morning and evening, whereas before, OH dropped me off and collected me from the door to the office......must find a decent pedometer again.....
10p only on the scratches for me today.....nothing in or out of the bank - £5.80 of my £20 remaining.Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. They just wear better shoes. (Maud Van de Venne)Life begins at the end of your comfort zone (Neale Donald Walsch)0 -

I knew you'd come up with a plan! I am sure it will be a doable and it means you are still that step closer to being debt free. I hope this rollercoaster starts getting a little easier for you, it has only been a short time and you have come so far.

Hello Hypno, glad to hear you have a cunning plan in place.....but knew you would think of something! Your revised debt figure £1151 more than it is at present - you know, that isn't too bad in the scheme of things, and works out at under £25 a week over a year - you have managed to pay off more than that in the past 3 years or so, so that should be a doddle. A tight doddle indeed, but with the household down to 3 people from 4 some of that will be achieved by savings on household running costs..... go easy on the Jaffa cakes though, they are a bit pricey!!!One life - your life - live it!0
