  • Surf, I'm so sorry you're going through this. Can you call the Coroner's office for advice since the impact on your family is clearly heavy.

Surfbabe, we had the same with my Dad's death - his was because he died suddenly and wasn't at home. We had to have the police involved at the start, then the coroner......his funeral was 3 weeks later too which seemed an extraordinary amount of time to be in limbo. Eventually, however, we had his funeral on Comic Relief day, and in the spirit that was my Dad, we wore red socks and sneaked in red noses to the church :)

((hugs)) to you - I don't wish the wait on anyone x

I've been out for dinner - Zizzis was full.....too many people using their MSE vouchers I guess as it is not normally full on a midweek night. So instead of waiting ages for a table, we went to Cafe Uno - no vouchers because we weren't prepared, but still fairly reasonable - I paid £17 to include more than my share of dinner (so that the person who was having a birthday didn't have to pay) and I paid for the car park as I was given a lift, so all in I think it was fine. My £20 is long gone now though, so I have to declare myself "out" of that challenge for now!

It is freezing cold here - snow and ice outside again - and I have reduced the number of hours the heating is on, in order to try and get my monthly bills down......so extra socks and a hot water bottle are in order as the house is not as warm as one might like!

macgirl, I've not forgotten about our running pact for tomorrow - my only excuse would be if it is icy.......I still ache somewhat from the weekend, but I am up for another few miles after work.

morning all - half way through the week.......getting there.

St Miniver scratches are not working right now - down for maintenance, so will have to remember to revisit them later.....banking shows nothing in and nothing out, which I suppose is ok, although I'd quite like to see a lovely big payment in there as a nice surprise!

Today I need to re-do life insurance, to go alongside the mortgage as my current policy is a joint life, and if I die, it goes to OH, which doesn't really work any more. I can get a decent cashback amount through quidco, and should save about £20 on my monthly premium so worth doing as far as my SOA is concerned.

I've got a mystery shop at lunchtime - no fee, but my purchase refunded, so if I am careful with my choices, I can get something worth keeping in the present box for one of the children later in the year.

And of course I am off out for a run this evening.........

Hope you all have a good day x

Thats good thinking about the insurance. Could have it put in trust for the children if there is excess left. The budgets are definately going the right way.

It is good that you can talk to your boss.

Try and have a good day. x

I had wondered about mentioning wills Hypno, your situation is classic in that although you're not together you're still legally married as far as estates go after death. I know it's another expense, but something to think about if you haven't already.

Off to try to do the Miniver scratchies now, managed a 50p on Virgin this morning.
