Fingers, toes and all other extraneous bits crossed for the valuation, Hypno.
Re candles - if you like nice fragrances, try some Lush stuff if you haven't done so already. Their Karma fragrance brings out the hippy in me.

Surfbabe - usual consignment of positive vibes on its way. The outcome won't change by the sounds of it but here's hoping it is calm, peaceful, dignified and noble in the final hours.

I'll pop back later to check on progress regarding the valuation. Hope they can give you some indication. Have a good day x

He didn't say much to me other than asked why I was needing to remortgage and as he left he said that he would send the report electronically this afternoon so hopefully I should have a mortgage offer early next week - I take that to be as positive as I dare!

I'm not a big fan of "fragrance" throughout the house, but I do like things to smell calm and relaxed, if that makes sense - I've never tried Lush, simply due to the price tag and the overwhelming smell in the shop which would confuse me as to knowing what to buy to be calm and relaxed!

Absolutely - and they summed up everyones feelings perfectly.

Definitely. I try to live by the William Morris quote: "Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful."

Perfect - and definitely the way I am trying to head!

I agree with you with this completely Hypno. I'm trying to do that with clothes atm, I'm buying less but nicer, better quality and more flattering things that I enjoy wearing. I tend to change size a bit quite frequently and a couple of years ago had lots of things I couldn't wear anymore and it was just such a waste.

Again, this is where I am trying to head - Once I get my budget sorted, I am going to include a clothing allowance and will, over a period of time, have a proper workable wardrobe.

Just having a coffee then off to do my mystery shop, and to pick up DS ski jacket.....have done a fair bit of flylady but the hoover has cut out - obviously not used to the amount of use it has had in the last couple of days, so I can't finish hoovering upstairs for a while......shame that

Sounds like it's positive to me - that's a good step in the right direction.

As for quality over quantity, that is my attitude to clothes buying - hence the disastrous state of my finances :o

I used to burn intense cones, but stopped when I had babies crawling around. Now I tend to have perfume that I've been bought but don't particularly like, in the hall and give it a squirt if I'm expecting someone! :rotfl:

And right on cue, a Boden catalogue gets put through my door......

    *sigh*

I will go and due my chores, then will sit in my tidy house and look through at some yummy-mummy clothes and see if there is anything I can justify treating myself to......

They always have offers on, plus you can buy it through Quidco (not that I'm advocating any frivolous spending mind )

Sounds like a good way to be heading - would love to do the same with house and clothes - quality over quantity :) Hope you have a good day Hypno x

step away from the boden clothes hypno. If you do find something that you are considering buying, check on ebay first. There was a seller selling Autumn/Winter 09 stuff while is was the current range for 40% + cheaper. For example there was a dress I really wanted £89 ebay £49. Not that I am of course incouraging you to spend either!
