Oh gosh, I've only just seen this and had to read back pages and pages to find your news.

I'm so sorry to hear this. Hope that you and the children will quickly feel settled in your new life and that you and ex-OH can maintain good relations.

Obviously this means a change of plans but I am very certain you will quickly have new goals and will be heading towards them at high speed as before.

    Well, he's gone :(

And it feels crap :( But then I supposed its not meant to be easy, is it.

Time for a "period of readjustment".......I am back at work tomorrow but have booked a couple of days off at the end of the week because I think I will need them then.

    pah and pants indeed.....

    :(:(:( Poor you.
As Lucielle said, it may not be forever? I'm sure that, aside from the children, debt was the most important thing in your relationship these last few years.
That must have put you both under enormous pressure and not left time for much else, then I guess you lose sight of your relationship.....

Perhaps a break will change the air between you, so you can find each other again.....:)
Hope you enjoy the time with your friend x

    Hi
so sorry, can't really add anything to what everyone else has said, but wanted to comment on a few things.

Thank you so much for your lovely messages. It has been really hard not to post all of this in the last couple of weeks, but I really needed to ensure there was no way of the children finding out via a third party, or cyberspace.

This was soo good of you. When my brother and his wife were having problems, he changed his facebook status to 'it's complicated', which my sister saw. A whole lot of chinese whispers went round the family and obviously reached his kids.

You are right, elsie, I have some wonderful friends on here who will see me through this, just as they have seen me through the darkest debt days in the past.

This site is a wonderful place - and without it, I would be in a far poorer situation than the one I am in now. On so many levels, not just financially.

So, again, thank you all :A

You said something very similar to me when I lost my job. Not comparing my situation with yours, they are not. In the big scheme of things, it makes such a difference that you are already in the right mindset.

Well, I have discovered something - that without any furniture, my house is actually quite big!

I must remember this fact when I start to allow clutter back in.......

Just caught up with things, Hypno. I am so so sorry, life is a b*tch isn't it? Especially when the end of your debt situation was in sight, and a new life for all 4 of you was becoming more possible. Not to be, though. At least things at present are being handled practically and in a civilised manner, although that's no guarantee things will always be like that. Maybe it's time to start a new diary, put the old life behind you and start afresh with revised targets for debt busting? Please don't be afraid to yell and shout and scream on here (in a virtual manner of course) if you need to, there's a tough road ahead and you will have dark patches before the sun comes out again. Thinking of you at this time and sending good vibes your way.

Thanks, nargle.....once I get the new mortgage completed, and can do a "proper" SOA, I will probably start a new diary, by which point I will be a couple of weeks down the line and ready to see things with new focus.

In the meantime, you'll all have to put up with me on this one!

  • How much furniture has he taken?!

Mmm I think my OH would be leaving with just his bin bags lol

As others have said I hope that if you do not want this to be 100% ever over that this distance can open new opportunitues to start a better relationship. If you know you can't go back then I hope things continue as they seem to be.

    Take care
