I know a lot of forums don't "approve" of the eyerolling smiley as they feel it can be used in an unpleasant and sarcastic way....perhaps that's why it's gone? There's no escaping the Thought Police you know! ;)

Sounds like ds is having a great time Hypno - he (and dd) must be very talented to get to go there - memories that will last him a lifetime.

You have done them proud - despite the debt.

Now all you've got to do is get the sleeping sorted - those feet pads look worth a try - is the idea that they are only used occasionally or once started have to carry on using them?

    Hi Hypno,

I tried the detox food pad things a while back. They did feel a bit strange - I suppose you're just not used to having something stuck to the sole of your foot. Also one night mine come unstuck so I had to start wearing socks to keep them in place. I did get a lot of green gungy stuff the first few nights, which tailed off after a few days like they said it would (supposed to be when you've been detoxified). I've read stuff which says it's all ****, but like you say, even if it's just placebo it will let you get more sleep! I can't comment on whether they help with sleeping, because, well, not getting enough sleep has never been a problem of mine - it's waking up I have trouble with!

I did have a strange tingling sensation in the night - I don't know whether that would reassure you that it was acheiving something or interefere with your sleep - something you will only know if you try them I guess.

My top tip though - be really careful in the morning in the shower - the sticky residue is very slippery!!!!

Oh but I forgot to say, I did have a period of waking up about 4 am (always got straight back to sleep, so no real problem for me), but mentioned it to a friend who told me to have a banana before bed, and I swear it cured it instantly. Now I always have a little snack (it's not bananas per se, just that hunger was waking me up).

And finally, everyone was talking a few pages back about becoming debt free (I've been on holiday so had a week to catch up on, as I normally follow you daily). And I can confirm I still check the bank first thing. I still break into a cold sweat when I open my purse. And I now (unbelivably) have more in savings than I had in debt, and, what do you know, I still can't justify expensive magazines for some reason!

(But when we go out for dinner now and pay on debit card we do always have bubbly! Being debt free is amazing, and I know you'll get there in no time at all).

  • A regular lurker says hi and hope you are OK. Although it is nice to hear when you have a big win or bonus, I am just as happy reading about the 10p's on the scratches and the battles with the flylady lists.

You are a braver woman than me attempting flylady, though you have encouraged me to start chipping away at some of the bigger tasks that never seem to get done. I am currently trying to bring the oven back to something like its original state and it is taking an embarrassingly long time. Flylady's tip to soak the shelves etc in washing powder is a good one, but is proving challenging on the grill pan.

Take care and I hope payday meant money for chocolate treats. It is only right that we support Cadbury products now to make sure they don't disappear after the takeover. I have done my bit and bought a pack of 10 Curlywurlys :D which were on offer.

Tomorrow I will be endeavouring to have a mega-flylady day......it has taken a bit of a back burner these last few days, but I need to get on top of it.

As for the cadburys takeover - well, it has caused me soooooo much work and although my colleague bought us all Double Decker bars the other day, I don't think it will be enough to stop the deal going through!

Is it a good or bad thing that you have more work from it?

It's good, in that it keeps us all busy.......but bad in that when you are already busy, something as big as a takeover of cadbury makes it even more stressful.....but I am not complaining - I will catch back up eventually, and my job was never meant to be dull and simple :o
