Depends on what you buy, I guess, but one of my friends bought a slightly second hand mini with a better spec than she could have got in the Republic, came over with her brother (a car ace) to check it over, drove it back and still reckons it was well worth the while. I guess it just depends what you are looking for and whether or not you are a bit lucky and get a good deal. I know other people who have done it as well.

Having said that, it's cheaper for us on this side to go to the continent to pick up many cars made there, even with the modifications you have to make to make them legal on the roads over here. *Sigh* So much for the EU!

the irish government has a special permission to add vrt,,,vehicular registration tax
to any imported vehicle,,
this is the difference between price paid and the price of a similar Irish model.
it was done to save the car sales trade many years ago,,,and now is impossible to alter,,

Morning....or should that be "middle of the night" My Norwegian goes home today so an extra early start to get her to the station (the buses are good here, but don't start this early)....so coupled with my inability to get to sleep until gone 2am, the early morning alarm didn't greet me with too much joy :rolleyes:

Ah well, I'll be able to fit in a coffee or two before work.......first scratches and banking!

Morning - hope you manage to get through the day on so little sleep Hypno.

DS managed to pick up an hours teaching last night - every little helps!. He is going back to Uni tomorrow and won;t be home till March (hopefully!)

Am looking forward to getting everything back in order and my routine back - am determined to start swimming again .

As far as I know he is.....I've not heard much from him - I've even been lurking on facebook to see if he updates his status or anything, but he is obviously either having too much fun, or is in too much trouble, to be able to do even that!!
