    Hi all,

Just a warning to really check your confirmation letters when you get them.

I have got a weekend break at Haggerston Castle in October, in the Sun Park guide it states that the entertainment passes are free for under 5's, and there is no gas or electricity charge (terms and conditions state that this is included in price unless it states in details that it is a token or coin meter).

I have just got my confirmation today, and it is charging me £19.00 for a power add on and £19.50 for entertainment passes. I have just phoned them and they say that because it is a discount holidayI have to pay for my 3 year old to have a pass, and they are charging for power, not gas and electricity. Whe I asked what happened if I didn't pay for the power add on, they said I wouldn't have any gas or electricity!!!! Surely this is what they have just said I didnt have to pay for? When I asked to speak to a manager about the difference in power and electricity they cut me off. Am I going to get there to find a windmill or something?????

Can someone also please let me know where I find the holiday parks online on the Sun website?

In small print on our booking confirmation it states there is no charge for Under 5's so may be worth re-reading it caerfully in case it's tucked away. We're not staying there but it's a different Haven site so I'd imagine it's the same rules.

:( I've booked for France at the end of May (still havent got my confo though). Apparently if you didnt book the ferry online at the time of booking the holiday, you cant have their cheap deal. I didnt book as previously you just got a code & could then go online & play around with times/dates & ports to get the best deal & thought I would do it again. Now I dont think I can afford to go as the ferry is coming out at over £400!!!
Any ideas anyone? I would prefer going from Portsmouth to Caen as travelling down to the Vendee & Calais is too long a drive.

You could do Eurotunnel with Tesco vouchers, long drive from Calais to Vendee though as you point out.

Finally got our paperwork from Eurocamp, and was very happy to discover that we have been allocated their "superior" 3 bed van with decking :j (quite a bit better than the 2 bed "classic"/no decking we thought we'd get). Roll on summer.

I've just been looking at that - £150 for the tunnel & an extra 2 hour drive. The original ferry would be about 6 hours though so it would be a shorter travel day but longer drive. Worth looking into I think though - I can say that as I dont do the driving!!

Also check out LD lines Portsmouth to Le Harve they have the fast craft which only takes 3 1/4 hours. It leaves at 8.30am so plenty of time to travel to your site in France. I found their site really easy to use, enter your dates/passengers and it comes up with a timetable you can shunt back and forward by date/time and gives you the return price.
