If you've already got a tree on Ancestry, can you still make use of the software given with the Tesco vouchers? Will it be able to tally up IYSWIM?0

Just signed up via clubcard, it's a lot cheaper than the usual price for 6 months ancestry even with Quidco.0

Just used my 14 days basic sub and found that after the 1841 census I needed access to christening records etc for which a premium membership is needed.0

Yes you can, with any family tree software. You can import/export the .ged file into any family tree software. So if you've already got one one ancestry, all you do is export the file as a .ged. I've exported mine to Australia as I managed to find someone i'm related to (from about 1750 !), he has then uploaded my .ged file into his family tree software
I signed up for the deal last year on the New Zealand site, and like you said, it's the same as the UK site and I could access my original family tree.
I will check out quidco and Tesco. And also not renew my membership and see if I get an offer. Cheers.0 -

We have also upgraded the family tree software that we use, purchased via clubcard points (also available for purchase from amazon for £30) which gives 6 months ancestry which is possibly a good way to start.
Might be repeating what others have said but
- find out as much as you can from freebmd first so that you are in a position to make the most of your subscription
- take care on the familysearch site as some of the records are added by members and aren't always accurate.
- We have found that some amatuer researchers will take the first piece of information found as gospel with the risk of getting it wrong whilst others are a lot more thorough - with experience you get the feel for which are which!
Does this software enable you to print out a chart?0 -
Hi, yes, all family tree software, including the one on ancestry, allow you to print a tree. But bare in mind that most trees are huge and unlikely to print on a sheet of A4. I've managed to print summary sheets. Ancestry allows you to create a book, with photos, information, trees etc and you can either print each page yourself or order the book. Looks really good.0
