My life is crap and I am so sad
Sweetie,
I'm so sorry that you are finding things really really tough at the moment :grouphug:
I'm really not sure how best to help you feel better, but I can assure you that you bring so much warmth & caring to so many people on here :A& I for one, would be utterly miserable without you here to keep me going when I've had enough of it all, to sympathise when things are grim, laugh with me when things are good & not make me feel bad when I've bought new shoes - :iloveyou: & I'm sure there are many more people both on DFW & out there in the real world who feel the same.
I hope you soon recover your happiness & in the meantime just remember that you are truly F* FABULOUS

Oh Shoegal, so sorry you are feeling sad and low.
Sometimes I have the same thing, where you feel bad but don't really know the reason why.
Just trust that IT WILL pass.
I was feeling really unhappy with my life a couple of years ago and it all came to a head when I was on holiday. I was making the same plans at the end of my holiday as to what I was going to do to get my life on track when I got back and I realised they were the same plans I always made and I never kept to.
So instead I thought about what I really wanted and I made big changes to achieve it. In fact I was really surprised when i thought about what I really wanted and compared it to what I thought I wanted.
This is sounding a big confusing I think, to clarify I was workng as a freelance make up artist but not successfully and my plans were always about getting more work. But when I thought about what I wanted from my life I realised that I wanted a job that finished when I left it and that I had enough time to go on holidays and spend my social life out and about with friends....which isn't really compatible with makeup work as it is really long hours so no time for social life while working and also you have to do a lot of stuff at home (invoicing, looking for more work etc) so in the end I gave up my make up pursuits and this really changed my life for the better.
I'm not suggesting that you make such big changes but it really helped for me to focus on what I thought my perfect life involved.
Anyway I wish you all the best and try not to be too hard on yourself.
Sometimes I find going to somewhere like an art gallery (for the urban) or out to a beautiful place of nature really helpful. You can just wander as you like, no one disturbs you and if you want to sit and think you can do so without looking odd. And for me, a real treat is to take a good book or mag, order a lovely coffee / tea and a big cake and sit in a nice cafe for as long as I want. Good for some reflection time and headspace.
Of course, you might be thinking too much in which case ignore above....I've got my own flat :j:j
Now I have to pay the bills

Shoe gal make up's right it will pass, I've been there and it's not nice, and at the end of the day there's no real reason why we are single, I just keep telling myself it's cos I haven't met the right person yet and I ain't settling for second best anymore, so it's going to take some time.
What doesn't help is that when your single everyone else seems to be leading fantastic interesting lives, when in reality it's probably just as dull as everyone elses.
And I remember on SAID we said we would all meet up in summer and we haven't sorted that, and that is something I would like to do one day if anyone else was up for it.
A couple of weeks ago someone at work did me a huge favour and as a person who does other people favours I was overwhelmed by there genorosity, it made me realise that we never realise the impact we have on each other, and when your single there's no one to tell you just how fabulous you are or what your wearing really suits you, but I know I can come on here and get some honest opinions and have a rant or type a load of rubbish and I'm not going to feel like a loon, so what I'm trying to say probably badly is things will get better and it's easy to look at the negatives but I bet there's a million positives in your life, it's just hard to remember them sometimes.0 -
Eco - you are right about that. I've had a bit of annoying news at work and the response from my colleagues has been fantastic. They've all been so outraged on my behalf, it has been great and when that support kicks in it makes you feel a lot better.
I'm glad karma has rewarded you - you totally deserved that!
Shoegal, your karma will kick in for you soon. You also deserve that!! :AI've got my own flat :j:j
