it is very encouraging to be able to hear/discuss these thiongs with people who fdeel the sam,e and not have the wide eyed- don't get it/trite responses from friends.
I'm sure that what is for you will never pass you by and it may seem that it's never going to happen but happiness is out there for all of us. In whatever forms we all desire.

Sermon/random two cents opinion giving- from lurker-over- Ooh i think i got a little possessed by oprah for a minute:o Don't worry i'm ok now.:D

Quite a nice work day, done some more fun stuff for a change, and out for lunch

Despite going out to lunch have tried to keep my eating under control, have just had sushi this evening to compensate for lunch time

Have lost another pound, so definately put Friday's naughtiness behind me :) Really want to stick at it this time and lose a stone by my birthday in October

    Souk - thanks for the idea, I think my challenge will be look on the good side and be the best I can be :D That means;
    • getting fitter
    • getting slimmer
    • planning loads of social stuff and not turning anything down
    • getting my money back under control but remembering that it's not all about paying debts - life is for living
As ever, thanks for all the kind words and support :A

    Hello lovely,

sorry you've been feeling down but so glad you could share it here & have just been reading all those lovely, wise, warm & supportive posts from everyone on here.

Although I dont get that same feeling of loneliness that you do at the moment - as I have DD, I am also very aware that she wont need me around for much longer & that I will need to find ways to occupy myself.

I was talking to one of the guys at work today about this very same subject & he wondered why I didnt feel the need to find someone & feel a sense of security.

I've been thinking about it all day & although I still maintain that I dont necessarily want to have a full on relationship, I will need to find something to fulfil me. My social life has dwindled somewhat over the years & I'm thinking that when I am free, I will try out various new hobbies, evening classes, fitness or exercise classes, leanr new skills or crafts or even academic subjects & just really throw myself into meeting new people, trying out new things & just pushing my own boundaries.

I remember reading what Souk said about having worked really hard to make new friends since returing to the UK & it really struck a chord with me.

In order to create a new & happier life for ourselves, we really do have make those changes happen ourselves.

No one knows who & what may be out there waiting to meet us & even if it's not a man you find, it could be a new group of friends who add a whole new dimension to your life.

Well done on the weight loss :j & please remember just how F Fabulous you are :A

    xx

Yippee to making it happen!!! Well girls I did a bit of ebaying this morning and have so far netted a £37 profit!!! Buzzing about it as was going to keep the stuff for a rainy day as it fits and is lovley but realistically after I've worn it to work I don't want to be wearing it out so that's the best place for it!

Shoesy I have tried all sorts to make pals and honestly some of it was succesful and some it definetely not (club with men with combovers and me in ted baker frock and heels springs to mind!) but hey I tried and you do too X

Thanks for all the support ladies, and thanks for the PM Souk - it made me cry :o

Am still feeling sad and low - think I just need to ride it out until I start to feel better. I cannot fix the things that are making me sad

I have, however, lost 5lbs on the 'sadness diet' - and got into some jeans that hadn't fit for ages this morning :)
