Oh I will probably be asleep come 7pm, being 50 years pregnant and all that. If not Imight allow myself a single glass of red wine [dont preach to me preachy people i have my fingers in my ears la la la] and wait for the fireworks on tv. I love fireworks.

No preaching here! When I was up the duff, I had a whole glass of red wine on my birthday! Dear me, how naughty!!

  • We shall be staying in and trying to keep warm! (we have had no heating or hot water since 23rd Dec and have now been given a date for the 2nd of Jan for the engineer to come and fix boiler) The first gas engineer kept us waiting while he faffed about trying to get a new pump, I've told the new engineer that if he appears on the 2nd without the new pump, that I may kill him on the spot!! :-)
Linda...chittering in snowy, freezing iciness :-(

Sounds like the perfect excuse to go out for the night!!

  • Looks like i will be in aswell :(

Me and some friends were going to take the kids to a new years eve party at the local bowling alley (they usually have one every year) we rang them this morning to find out prices etc and they aint doing it this year :(

So unless we can find somewhere else thats suitable to take the kids then looks like i will be at home!

Though saying that everyone seems convinced im going to go into labour tomorrow or new years day that if they are right i could well be spending it on the labour ward :rotfl:

My friends sister was due on the 5th January this year, she went into labour on the afternoon of new years eve last year and the baby was born 2 minutes past midnight!! Good luck anyway!!
  • Oooh nice thread! Well I was originally was going to meet up with some friends but then was told by DH that we were going to my BILs on NYE, but then found out today that BIL doesn't want us all there on NYE due to us waking up the kids :confused: and just wants to see us on New Years Day. Anyway my lovely SIL (who I think of as a sister) has invited us to stay with her down the seaside. Is it me or does NYE planning become a pain sometimes??!! Should have just stuck with the original plan.

  • Staying in, will cook a nice meal for DH and myself. Might persuade him to have a glass of red wine (he doesn't drink very often). Maybe watch a DVD afterwards, we usually manage to stay up until after midnight. We're not very exciting! We can't be bothered to go out on NYE tbh, we've spent the last week socialising and entertaining friends and family so a quiet night in will be lovely.

DD (17) and DS (21) will be out somewhere I'm sure.

Staying in, just a normal night here really. All friends/relatives and potential babysitters already have plans, so me and DH will be home with our 3y old and 1.5yr old. I can't imagine that any of us will be up at midnight, and me and DH have rotten colds and can't taste anything, so even a takeaway would be wasted. Have never been very excited about NYE, can you tell :D ?
  • Staying in just me no doubt will be watching it all on the TV!

Chance to put my suit on and the girlfriend to put a nice little silk black number on and go to a club with live band and a hot/cold buffet, should be fun.

Happy New Year everyone and Happy Birthday and happy anniversary to those with something other than the new year to celebrate.

We're staying in. Steak and Chips for tea (does anyone else just love the taste of homemade chips or is it just me that's addicted??) with lots of vodka and rum to wash it down with. Don't know what we'll entertain ourselves with all evening but I'm sure talking about the new house will come into it at some point. Let's hope OH is still awake it midnight, we've been crawling to bed at 9pm all wek :-)

Hope everyone has a great time. Eat, drink and be merry, it's the last time this year you'll be able to do it!! xx xx xx
Yaaay, I finally conned a man into making a honest woman of me. Even more shocking is that I can put the words "Happily" and "Married" into the same sentence and not have life insurance on my mind when I say it ;-)
