Selling Your Stuff on Amazon Part 13 - Advice for newbies in first two posts

But that is not just down to people buying e readers and e books Soolin, it's also down to the general economic situation out there, lots of people are feeling the recession, even though the Government would have us believe it's not as bad as we think it is.
There is also the rising costs of everything including petrol and food and eventually something has to give, people just don't have as much money as they did, I know this from the orders I receive in my full time job they are down at least 20% possibly more.0 -
I've only ever sold a few here and there, but I followed your advice Soolin and pruned my inventory hard, and then adjusted some prices (some up, some down). I've sold two since then, after nothing for literally months. Today I finally listed a book I have owned for 40 years that I have never seen for sale on Amazon. It's a first (and only) edition, and one of a set of six, and the others crop up from time to time, but this one is a real rarity. It'll be interesting to see if there are any takers because I have put a completely outrageous price on it, and I'd be thrilled to bits if anyone wants it as badly as that!Better is good enough.0

Have you looked at bookfinder to see if there are any other copies for sale anywhere?

I've been trying everything everywhere for 18 months, and it has never appeared anywhere. Rather marvellously, my copy has now appeared on Bookfinder, and that only took about 15 minutes!Better is good enough.0

That's brilliant as some non UK buyers will watch Bookfinder rather than Amazon so your copy may well be picked up!

Is anyone having problems getting onto amazon seller account tonight? I sold a book earlier & was just logging in to print off the address but the seller page is completeley blank once logged in, I have tried 2 browers on my PC & had someone else try on a laptop but the same thing is happening. Hoping it's just a glitch & will be all fixed by tomorrow.2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0

We get many threads about feedback/stars etc on ebay yet the Amazon system is much more damaging to sellers.
I was selling around 70 books a month until last November when the market died for me and I cut back and gave up pro membership. I then got a 3* neutral from a buyer saying 'great delivery speed, thank you' but also dropped down to only selling around 10 books a month.
Of those 10 books a month I am lucky if I even get one feedback, so with only one neutral and no other problems with my account my headline feedback is now a terrible 96 % and every month it willd rop further as the good feedback becomes over a year old and falls off the rating.
So with a single neutral my account is likely to get to the stage of being unusable uquite quickly and there is nothing I can do about it. I can still source my books but what used to sell at £3-£5 a go is now uniformly 1p so is not worth listing and I don't sell new goods on ebay so cannot move any of my stock across to gain more turnover and potentially more positive feedback.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Hi Soolin, I've been in a similar position in the past.
I sell around 15 to 20 items a month now, probably about 70% videos the rest books, I also cancelled my pro subs but I put a "with compliments" slip inside my orders requesting people leave feedback and I am pretty sure this helps me get more feedback ratings.0 -
soolin exactly the same here , had a 3* last year with the comment "book much better then expect, arrived next day " !!!!
i am only a small seller 10 - 20 a month so it did have a big impact on my percentage for a year untill it dropped off
in the last 30 day i have recieved 2 feedback
the problem i think is amazon dont make it easy for buyers to leave feedback like ebay , they have to search for it
70% of feedback that is left for me is a month after the sale when they get a reminder from amazon !
must say i have had a good start this month 9 sales - 7 of them between £10 - £30AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0066
