I too have run a few books through the FBA calculator and like 20thcenturycat in all cases it was more expensive than carrying my own stock and that doesn't take into account having to pay storage for a year or more.
Good idea though and possibly a better bet for people who have very fast moving items.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Anyone else noticed that when buying books from marketplace now the postage is £1.80?
Nice of them to have such a prominent announcement (not).I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Where did you see it?
I just bought some 1p books, and they cost me £1.81. When I checked the postage was £1.80 and looking at the seller boards there are some threads mentioning that the postage credit has gone up and yet no one can see an obvious announcement.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Postage for books for me still says £2.80, I must be missing something.
In general the postage credits have been kept the same for the past 5 years, only allowing for VAT change, it must be time for Amazon to put them up a little bit, especially with another stamp rise in April0 -

So you also have the new rate then if you get £2.80, it was £2.75 until very recently.
According to the seller boards it is something to do with VAT, although no one seems to know quite what VAT has to do with it.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Well it seems to be official as the £2.80 rate is shown here:

Well, not buying many, just the odd one that I know will sell for quite a bit more than I buy it for. Sometimes big sellers will underprice a book or it might take a while for their software to reprice it upwards. Just a case of being lucky I guess and looking out for certain books. Doesn't happen that often though as I don't have the time these days to do much book scouting online or elsewhere.0 -
Anyone else unable to access the Amazon Seller Connection Forums today or is it just me?0
