            I agree.... when I had DD, I was a single mum, I got paid mat leave for 6 months then went onto IS, I lasted until DD was 18 months but I felt I wanted to get back to work, but I had to attend a Lone parent meeting first, they calculated my earnings on IS/TC's and what I'd receive if I went back to work, I was better off on benefits by about £20pw and the advisor person told me to stay on benefits, I said no, I want to return to work, I could tell she was surprised and didn't quite know what to say to me !!:rolleyes::rolleyes: As it was when I did get a job, I got so much money from them, money for new clothes, 2 days of childcare to settle DD in, and £40pw for a year which was a new thing they did, so it seemed they had a lot in place to encourage people back to work, but they didn't know how to get them back to work :eek:
