They don't have time to suggest jobs. To be fair it isn't their fault - they are overwhelmed.
Trouble is that they treat everybody the same - as if they don't want to work. They should have recived training to help the 'new' people they are now getting - the long term workers who's world has suddenly collapsed because of the economy.

Anyway - enough already from me. I just have the New Year blues.

I agree.... when I had DD, I was a single mum, I got paid mat leave for 6 months then went onto IS, I lasted until DD was 18 months but I felt I wanted to get back to work, but I had to attend a Lone parent meeting first, they calculated my earnings on IS/TC's and what I'd receive if I went back to work, I was better off on benefits by about £20pw and the advisor person told me to stay on benefits, I said no, I want to return to work, I could tell she was surprised and didn't quite know what to say to me !!:rolleyes: As it was when I did get a job, I got so much money from them, money for new clothes, 2 days of childcare to settle DD in, and £40pw for a year which was a new thing they did, so it seemed they had a lot in place to encourage people back to work, but they didn't know how to get them back to work

Sally/Bookie~ in the words of the infamous Dory... just keep swimming, but it's easier said than done, I know. Hugs to you both... and I wish I could help xx

Oh, and Sally, we were told twice today that Mama's and Papa's were rubbish!

Well I didn't like to say they were rubbish as everyone has their own opinions but...personally I think they are rubbish :o
