BF's work do tonight! Managed to get hairdresser booked for half 3 so for once my hair will look perfect on the night (haven't had it cut for months!). Can't wait to wear my new dress! Yesterday bought two bags from M&S,one silver, one purple as couldn't decide which colour to go for. My dress is purple, but shoes and all other accessories will be silver. I prefer the purple bag though so will probably go for that one. They were only £6 so not too bad, esp as the one I looked online in Next (that thankfully they didn't have in the shop) was £18!
I think either would look great. I love purple. I think it is the one colour that flatters everyone

Had a great time at the party and the venue was great. Everything was free so all we had to pay for was the train tickets on the night. It finished at one anyway so getting the half one train was just perfect. Loved the dress and shoes were very comfortable yet pretty. Good night all in all.
On Sunday had two matches which we lost so that was a bit of a bummer.
Anyway, 9 days of work till hols!!!And there is a very real possibility I could pay my hsbc card off from next pay which is on Wednesday.

Hello all!
I'm back at work after 8 days off, unfortunately 3 off those off ill. Didn't feel too bad at Xmas though. Went to bf's mum for xmas and then couple of days at his dad's after they came back from snowboarding (grrr!). Was glad to get back home yesterday but could do without work till new year as not much going on at the office.
Managed to pay the cc off! All £288.82 of it.Did use it to pay bf's xmas present but that will be paid off from next pay and is not going to be used willy-nilly again.
Next year will have it's *new* (continuing) challengies. Would love to pay off all my debts by the end of the year. 0% cc end in early april so have to find a replacement for it as I won't be able to pay all of it off, especially now we're going to my cousin's wedding in February. I'd better get back into some challenges next year, like make £10 a day etc.
I also need to find a new job in the next couple of months so we can move to Bristol. Can't wait! Except the looking for jobs bit...I don't mind interviews, just all the bits before that.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -

Well,last day of the year!
I'm quite pleased how it's panned out in the end financially. I've managed to pay my s.loan off which was one of my aims and at the moment I'm left with two cc's to get rid off. I'd like to be debt free by the end of next year, though the original plan was to be done by end of October, before my 33rd b'day. Who knows, it might still be possible if I manage to make some extra.
There'll be changes in store for next year as well. Finding another job and moving again. Things are going great with bf and I see no reason why this shouldn't carry on being the case. In that respect I'm very happy and wasn't expecting the year to end like this.
Happy New Year everyone!:beer:DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
Hello ladies and all!
Hope everyone's year has started positively. I'm getting slowly back into rythm of things. Lots to think about and just trying to organise my ideas/what I want to do/achieve this year. Thinking about starting a new diary but not sure it's necessary.
On the money front, I'm now down to 2 credit cards but things promise to be tight in the first quarter of the year so not sure how much debt I can pay off,it might have to wait when I know my financial situation a bit better. I need to save money for the move (have started looking at jobs but not applied for anything yet - must get to that fairly soon!) not only for moving costs, deposits etc, but I have to pay rest of my bicycle (cycle-to-work scheme) from last pay which will make things difficult.
Anyway, I got a letter from Santander that I'm guaranteed a santander credit card with no transfer fee and 0% for 16th months. I think I should go for it. The problem is, you can't transfer from other santander cards, and my santander zero 0% deal ends early April and I won't be able to pay it off before that. I could transfer virgin cc (6.9% for life of balance) but need to be able to move the zero card as well. I have two other cc's,hsbc and tesco. Former I've used regularly and paying off at the end of the month of as minimum for last few months, latter I haven't used for couple of years. Was planning to give them a call and see if they can offer me a good 0% deal, but will I be able to get two cards in about the same time? Help appreciated.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0 -
So santander is starting to play silly bvggers. My 0% deal is ending soon, beginning of April (must double check) and my minimum payment so far has been between £45-£50. Today, minimum payment of £19.54 went out! I think I need to call them and see what an earth are they playing at.DEBT FREE OCTOBER 2012!Proud to have dealt with my debts!0

Hi Tirl - I think it is always worth asking whether any of your other cards would give you 0% - we have just moved some debt around that...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
