    Afternoon all

I needed a new matteress for DS1's bed rang the shop at 9 but there was no answer. Got a call back about 9:20 and the mattress was here by 10:15:T DS1 was asleep on it by 10:45 :rotfl:

Asda delivery was here by 11am when I signed for it the delivery man said 'just over £90 for all that '(I had around 15 bags and £30 was boxes of beer for New Years Eve) he said 'my last delivery was £78 and she had about 5 bags' - I said 'ahhh but i shop carefully ;)' he he:cool: the list at the bottom showing where I saved was near as long as my shopping!

So shopping's away, lunch was the soup I made overnight which was lovely altho DH spotted the swede in one sip  but everyone else enjoyed it - even a neighbour who popped it stopped for a cup!, I'm following the flylady thread this week and I just have to clear out some drawers and thats on the agenda after I've put dinner in the slow cooker. I have my budget set up on a spread sheet for the year and its good to see the majority of debt will be paid off by September and I'll be able to start saving for our planned trip to Kos in April 2012 (long time away I know but It will take us that long to save up!)

Dinner will be Spag bol with garlic bread and thats my next 'to do'. Hoping the bin men get here today as they were supposed to come yesterday but it was too icy for them to make it down our road.

DD is still in whingebag mode and 'flips' at the slightest sign of things not going her way - we had a battle of wills during getting her dressed this morning...I won. On the plus side she has been in knickers since Christmas day (Santa brought her Dora knickers) with no accidents as of yet.... about time she's three gone October and just bloomin lazy!!

Must crack on, have a good day

    Afternoon all!

Late one at work and then ex phoned for a chat, so missed most of my sleep! Decided I'd get up and walk the dog, which was quite a good plan as it's now freezing and chucking it down! Then got on with giving downstairs a good clean and hoover, need to mop the kitchen floor yet again due to aforementioned dog wandering through! Put a pile of leftover veggies and bits and bobs from the fridge in the sc to make some soup, smelling good already, that'll do me for later and then the kids can have some tomorrow when I pick them up from their dad.

Friend has just been round for coffee, he's having a lot of issues with his ex wife, sadly I don't think there are any quick fixes but I think he left a bit happier having unloaded it all. I know that I'm really lucky that I get on well with the kids' dad most of the time, and lucky that I can afford the mortgage and he doesn't want me to sell the house, when you see other people in such a stew it really makes you count your blessings.

Anyway now need to get my bottom in gear and get me to the shops to get a pressie for a friend's birthday, just off to the local little town, so hope they have something good! Also need to grab a card for my ds who is 16 today - but we shall be celebrating on Thursday, as he is with his dad at the mo and I have to work tomorrow!

Have a good day all, will pop in later xx

    Hi Everyone

Well alot of people seem tired/ill/under the weather/out of sorts today and I am afraid I must join the masses......woke up at 4am and could not get back to sleep until about 5.30. Then OH got up for work at 7 :( He got back at 10.30 and I made him a nice hot breakfast and he had a nap as he is working again at 7pm....

Bit of a strange day. Despite my best intentions I am on the PC again and need matchsticks for my eyes!!! My last day off work (as I work 9-5 my pessimistic side is telling me I now only have three HOURS left off), and wanted to make most of it but got post today for first time in about a week, an xmas pressie for OH little brother - a bit late now - and a letter from car insurance co - telling us policy cancelled because we did not renew. Think we have missed a letter somewhere along the way!!

Anyway have just spent about 3 hours online trying to get insurance as he needs car for work but all had deposits far too high for us to be able to afford :(:( even TESCO value was £78 deposit!!!

Found one with a low deposit scheme £10 with higher monthly payments, just waiting for confirmation email (refresh refresh refresh) then getting dressed and heading to Tesco and chemist and all the things I had planned to do today.

Am a bit down so think I have back to work blues, but at least I have a few days with not many people there and then off new years day again - making most of that as only day both me and OH off work, think I will do another roast to make most of christmas table

have a great day everyone x

    Afternoon all.

Have managed to get up and do a bit today.

DD1 helped with the mobile unit, so that's out the way and DD2 took the christmas cards down for me.

We had chicken noodle soup and baguettes for lunch - none of it homemade :o but it was very nice, all the same.

I cleaned the tiop of the cooker, as I noticed it needed doing when I heated up the soup. My cooker has a lid on it, so you don't get to see any dirt underneath until you use it :D Anyway, that's done and although the oven needs a bit of a clean, it can wait for another day.

I've done meal plans now for the first week in January, and the rest of December, so pleased with that. I'm going to join the grocery challenge [again :o] and see if I can stick with it this year.

DDs are now playing on the wii and I'm going to have a bath, see if it will ease my joints a bit more.

Hope you're feeling ok now MSD and your hip isn't giving you too much bother.

    Afternoon all.

I feel a bit of a fraud posting here, as OS has so not been happening of late. Wretched lupus flare still making life very hard for me; luckily Mr LW has been great, doing the stuff I haven't been able to manage.

I'm toying with the idea of joining the Flylady thread once the holiday period is over, but I'm worried that I'll fail at that if I have a bad few days. What do to, what to do...:confused::confused: One thing's for sure, something's gotta be done about this place; it's like a pigsty, ansd I'm falling further and further behind. Kitchen lounge and bedroom are fine (more or less) - it's places like the[STRIKE] junk[/STRIKE] spare room, which basically gets used for storage.

I find I start in the bits we live in, and by the time I've got that OK, I'm too darned exhausted to tackle any more.

Well, I have til after the weekend to try and work something out - Mr LW is working from home today, late shift tomorrow, normal day Thurs, and at home Fri Sat and Sun.

I hope everyone else is having a good day - ((((HUGS)))) for all who want/need one today.

Afternoon all and hugs to all who are in need or want for any reason.

Rotten day here, wind and sleet and -8 or something like promised for to-night so heating on, fires lit and OH cooking dinner.

Not been near sales and don't think I will go either, nothing I need except for a new phone, might look for one to-morrow when I take OH to Warfarin clinic for his check-up.

Knitted a scarf and most of a bag for DGD2 who has a birthday in February, getting on with using up all the wool I have before I start spending again.

New budget done for 2010, going to record every cent I spend as would not be sure how we worked out this year....still money in the bank but not sure if it is less or more than it should have been...tend to keep an eye on food budget but just pay other things without keeping any record.

No turkey left, do have smoked salmon, cream and cakes which need to be frozen, otherwise they will go off and I will go mad...have also some bread that needs freezing, OH buys some every morning when he goes for paper, without checking what we have in.....bah!

My sympathy to all who are back at work and enjoy yourselves those of you who have more time

    Afternoon again!

Have just been chasing dd3's rabbit round the garden, silly thing! Then had to clean him as he was all muddy! Turned round to find I'd left the hutch open and the other rabbit was just watching us, I swear he was laughing though!

Local town wasn't busy at all, and I got pressies in the teeny tiny Boots, and they were half price whoopee! Then popped into the book shop to pick up a pressie for another friend, did have one for him but left it on the hall table, one of the kids left a glass of water next to it and the kittens did the rest! Anyway, now just need to get wrapping and they can have them when I go into work tonight.

Have had some of the soup, think there might have been a few brussel sprouts left in the veg, still it tastes nice lol! And kids will appreciate it when we arrive home tomorrow.

Gonna sit and watch telly and surf for a bit and then hi ho it's off to work I go! Hope that it doesn't snow tonight, don't want to get stuck! xx

    Afternoon all

Been for a look at suites, found one I quite like now need to relook at finances:rolleyes:

Weather seems to be getting colder by the hour. Have been wrapped up in front of the TV this afternoon and dozing

Tea is going to be pasta, using the last of the cream, cheese and chopped up gammon - very OS. Have frozen some cheese and smoked salmon as it will not get used in time. Can I freeze some of this pasta sauce do you think as there is quite a big pan full before I pour it over the pasta!

    Have a good evening all
