    Good morning all

Damp and grey in Worcester but we're all keeping our fingers crossed for snow later :snow_laug Bet we don't get any

OH has taken all the kids to town. Ds1 needs new trousers and a new coat, both boys need socks. Dd doesn't need anything but has lots of Christmas money so she'll probably end up buying some unsuitable garment  Mind you it's a small price to pay for getting out of clothes shopping with the kids just after Christmas :D

I've got some bread rising (my excuse for not being able to go shopping) and I've started a batch of yogurt.

Beans on toast for lunch I think. Supper will be macaroni cheese with bacon and leeks in. I'm making this for pudding. I'll let you know how it turns out. It sounds like a mincemeaty version of bread and butter pudding.

We are eating lots of eggy things lately after dd was given the all clear (she is no longer allergic to eggs). She enjoyed her first fried egg last night, runny yolk and all :j. Spanish omelettes, frittatas, eggs in cheese sauce, baked eggs, curried eggs are all on the cards. Delia is good on egg dishes so I'll look her up.

We've overspent a bit on Christmas this time round so I'm doing the Grocery Challenge in January and hopefully beyond. Although I'm not officially starting till next Monday I got off to good start yesterday with a £45 shop (aiming for £75 a week). Most of that went on householdy stuff as there is so much food in the house.

    Hi everyone,

Ihope you all had a good Christmas, I'll try to catch up with everyone's doings later.

We had a lovely time at Sis in laws but it was very strange not to have MIL, In fact there was only four of us for dinner - the fewest we have had ever. We managed to talk to DD on the day and a couple of times since, Skype is a marvellous thing! She is moving from Perth to Sydney tomorrow but I think she's a bit worried baout the speed her money is disappearing. I don't think it's a good time to travel with the pound so weak.

We came back with lots of left overs, including several puds. I'm another who needs to lose weight and wiill be trying to do something about it in the New Year.

DS is eating with us tonight before he goes home so I have got a scouse base out of the freezer - I just need to add potatoes and dumplings and it will be a nice change from turkey or ham.
  • Morning everyone

    Looking very grey here today.

Thanks to you all for your good wishes for ds2. Having a very quiet day today, hopefully - depends on ds2 and how he is, he is putting more weight on his leg now, so it is mending. The problem is he is not getting rid of his energy (he has adhd), so only going to bed late and up early.

Managed to get to the sales for a few hours on Sunday when he was at his dads, bought 2 frying pans for £15, reduced from £30.:j

Lunch will be sandwiches and dinner will be something with salmon & broccoli.

Need to get straight at home and sort out my lounge, oh well will do a bit, small steps for me today I think.

Hugs to anyone who needs or wants one.

    Good morning guys,

    Cold, grey and drizzly today.

The boys are playing ninja turtles on the PS and DD is doing a jigzaw at the mo so it is fairly quiet. I've tidied up and there is a wash on. Not much else OS to report today. After lunch I have promised to help DS1 with his lego starfighter as the wings won't go on so there is an error somewhere in building it, that will take either 10 mins or an hour. Can't wait - not ;)

Lunch will be poached eggs on toast and tea will be mince, mash, broccoli and carrots. We got some milk and bread yesterday from the shop when the kiddies came back and that is probably all we will need for a while, The kitchen is still stuffed with food. We have a couple of Simpsons DVD's to watch this afternoon and I will make a start with some of the forecasts then (lego permitting). :D

I watched the day of the Triffids last night - brill! and am looking forward to part 2 tonight. I've also started a jigzaw a nice foil one so looking forward to working on that tonight too.

Gentle hugs to all who need one today and keep warm and safe eveyone.

    Smoky. xxx

Ive got boxes to open (deliveries from before Xmas - not presents). Hoovering to do, laundry, washing up etc etc etc etc.

My shoulders are drooping just thinking about it!!!!!

Anyway, off to move some stuff around in the kitchen.

  • HStree12.gifMorning OS friends.hellowave.gif

Just a quick one from me today. Rainy and cold here and I now have muddy cat footprints on the duvet as she went outside and came right back in again to cuddle on the bed with me, and I now have lil pawprints in red Devon mud!

My hip seemed to click out or something last night and when I tried to get out of bed at silly o'clock as usual I basically couldn't, so stayed there til my OH woke up to help me. That's why I didn't log on to talk to Tris or post here. I text Tris so he knew. I put the tv on low and watched a DVD for an hour or so and then fell asleep again til my OH woke around 0830 and got me sorted out..

I hope everyone is having a good day. I have my friend R from London coming over for the afternoon. She just finished her first round of radiotherapy. She is staying with her mum for Christmas (who used to be my art teacher when I was 13!!).

with big hugs and supportive vibes to Taplady and Janet and pipkin and Lady (hope your hubby is feeling Ok) and anyone else who needs a few.

    Morning all,

Been out for a nice run, had my shower and got stuck into all the smellies I got over Christmas:rotfl:To be honest these next few days are going to be me and MrS's Christmas - I was sick when I went back to visit my folks and then we went to the inlaws for Christmas, which is a bit stressful and never the same as being in your own place. My MIL isn't well and my poor FIL has the patience of a saint to put up with it - he's usually such a jolly chap it's sad to see him being shouted at for laughing/coughing/making too much noise:oSo yesterday was spent making cheesecake and all sorts of goodies to stuff ourselves on before we go back to work!

Anyway, I'm getting to know my pressure cooker (how did I manage without it??? It really is fab. So far I've churned out lots of beans and soups in no time at all) and had a play with my new Chef pasta maker attachment. That is utterly fab - we got a bit silly and tried to see how long we could make a bit of spaghetti:rotfl:

Today's plan is the John Lewis sale and I need to find two chickens for jointing - we've got people coming over on NYE. Will raid the freezer for some veggie sausages and chuck in some beans for a nice stew dinner.

Have fun everyone and stay wrapped up warm!

I've been missing from this thread for a while as was at my Mums for Christmas. 300 mile drive each way with kids, presents, and foster cat who we took with us! Was dreading it, but the cat was brilliant. She wasn't in her box, ans just snuggled up on the kids and went to sleep. We took her into the services with us when we stopped, and got lots of strange looks!

Christmas was ok, although would much rather have been at home to be honest. Never mind, will be nexy year, as only go to mums every other year.

Kids are now at their Dads, so I'm on my own til tomorrow. As usual have wasted too many hours on the computer, so should pull my finger out and do something useful. Need to rearrange the kitchen, as new American style fridge freezer coming on Thursday (mine broke just before Christmas), and I need to move the tumble dryer to make sure the space is big enough.

Other than that got lots of jobs to do, but probably won't get many of them done! New Years resolution is to not spend so much time on the computer!!

Hope you all have a good day.
