You are. Have you put more than a mouthful in at any one time?

  • Well Monday morning again..but am off for the half term- yipee. It's been a long/short half term, if you know what i mean.:(

Yesterday was awful again, and Mr.B managed to suck out the atmosphere with his sulking...but the children waded in and had a bit of a go at him. Not nasty, but said it was about time he sorted himself out and stopped sulking, as it was driving them crazy. They said a lot of his problem was not dealing with things- as in yes he is doing something-but three weeks to make a phone call/ write a letter is not proactive. They were referring to the car which has been zorned off the road- all he has to do is ring them to collect, but on days off he is not cleaning it out or anything. Just staring at it. I can understand it takes a bit of getting used to, and it has a lot of mileage on the clock, etc. Now he is moaning that they have added charges and this months payment on top..so what else can i do with him??

They are also fed up of the fact the phone rings for various companies, they answer if in during the day. I would send more phone call letters- but they don't leave messages just nos- now if he rung them back i could get things sorted. I know i could ring and find out the company name-but i need him to do this.

So hopefully he has listened to them- and i was quite proud of DS saying write it all down, use the spreadsheet then you won't feel under pressure as you will know how much is going in and out.

    Let's hope eh?

Other than that-going to get my head into gear to start decluttering and sort out books for pupils etc. Put them in a better place( in porch in bags at mo) and generally be proactive myself.

I know they are great.:D Right tone as well, as they came from a good angle- nothing to take offence at from him. I could probably learn from them- as in the best way to approach him- it really is like walking on egg shells at the moment with him.:o

I think it is a period of adjustment for him and i know it's a lot to take on board. I wish there was an easier way, but there isn't so we both have to suck it up and get on with it.

The one bit of good news is that the overdraft is coming down nicely and providing there are no unexpected payouts we should have that paid off in two months. That will show to him that it has been worthwhile and then he will feel that he is getting somewhere. I hope.:o

  • Other bit of news- i have switched my gas and electricity for a potential saving of £270 per year.We are now going with EDF and have got £60 cashback through quidco and i used online comparison site too- so cashback for that as well.

Our gas and electricity consumption has gone up slightly for this winter- given the cold snap so it is all go on making sure we have further savings in this coming year. As we have ended up in credit with our current supplier, we will not be facing a bill to switch- phew. So will monitor it carefully and see where we go from there- all energy saving mavericks in frugalisation bid.

Hope so! That is good news about the overdraft. I guess it is a little bit easier for the kids to approach because they don't have to deal with the fall-out quite so much as you do - it's brilliant that you have them onside though and hopefully it will make him see that it's an important thing for the whole family.

Well you have a point ISOM, and i am as stubborn as he is- so we do go at loggerheads for some time. I don't allow him to walk all over me, and he can sulk away because i can last it out..LOL:rotfl: His charm no longer works on me and he knows that he has to go for broke now.

So onwards and upwards....he has had his moment so must now look forward and see the bigger picture. If i am willing to tackle it properly then so should he be.
