Shucks at the compliment:o I learn off the best on here. Some of my best meals are your recipes and the lentil pate is being made again tomorrowNot going to post this on Weezl's thread coz she will ban me, but was just looking back to before my light bulb moment (of course I didn't have records, but had enough of my credit cards & bank statements). Worked out that some months we spent an average of £2 a meal each = >£1000 a month - and felt that we were not being extravagent
Currently my GC figure is £550 (about 1/2 on this challenge, 1/6 on general household (cats, washing, ...) and 1/3 on fruit and snacks). I am looking to work on the snacks but even so now living on half as much as before.
I promise I won't ban youI get a bit discouraged when I think of my own pre-lightbulb moments. Wednesday used to be a really horrid day at work for me, and so our wednesday night tea ritual was a pre-roasted whole chicken, bag of posh salad leaves, punnet of cherry tomatoes, and then a whole tub shared of Ben and Jerry's phish food! Just wednesday night's tea used to be £530 a year :rotfl:

I thought i was up at all hours Weezl.
Will bob over to yours and let them know how i tweaked the recipe
Shocking what one indulgence adds upto over the year. I love the demotivating tool on here for that.
I put in Mr.B's arranged overdraft fees:o:eek: I think that gets the message over more than my nagging when he realised that he was paying the equivalent of a holiday.
Last year-£360.This year, if he carries on it will be about £450. Not including advantage Gold which i have asked him to cancel-so £12.95 a month:eek:He can add another £150 onto that and he pays interest on it too..:o
He says it is for the breakdown cover and whatnot- last year i got the AA deal with cashback- so what was his excuse?
Come to think of it i should go in and do it- there's me passing the buck when i could be sorting things out as well.:o:rolleyes:
Right not a lot else going on here today except for cooking and whatnot. I will try and get on the HRMC website later to see if it will let me input my details .
Other than that hope everyone has a nice day.BOBBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

:rotfl:Ooooh I must get you to tell Queen bee and SMF2 I think they were both hoping that the cake might be made even more healthy

We still did the pre cooked chicken (up until this challenge) as it is very nice (if indulgent)- we would have it with french bread, taramasalata (?) and tapenade. yum yumI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

Well the one thing i don't like is ice cream, or choc ices-so has never been a temptation for me.
I have been known to indulge in the odd one- but for some reason that involves rum and raisin can't think for the life of me why?Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

My paperwork is very simple profit and loss but all the rigamarole-
Am i my own business? Do i just put my own name on there?? Same with the postcode, is it my own? Or do i put Mystery Shopping postcode? Grrr!Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

Well done on the food bob but extra teenagers not good for that there budget! Dont know if its any use but first direct give you 250 interest free o/d which is very useful for emergencies..would he ever just allow you to give him pocket money and just take all his cards away? Just a thought as that way you get out of the false sence of security of having a cc...doesent take long to get over it once youre past the initial terror...I dont even have one I can use now and never thought I would claim that!!Nerd no 109 Long haulers supporters DFW #1! Thanks for that bit of info- i already have an interest free zone as such, i am hoping to switch between two accounts for maximum profit:D I haven't used a credit card since August of last year, except for 0 % balance transfer and one mistake as i had a card set to my amazon account and i paid it immediately so no interest was accrued on it.
Himself is unable to use one at the moment, but plays freely with main account. I did take the cards- as in i asked him to leave them at home, except in dire emergency. I said he can draw out so much a week and that's it. He does stick to the amount he can draw out:o- it's the incidental running up of stuff i disagree with.So he points out he has only drawn out so much but fails to take into account how much he has spent on transactions. Long arguments and much huffing and sulking from Mr.B- with little hurt looks.
He did used to look cute when he was younger, but it wears a bit then when you're older and balder:rolleyes::rotfl: Not quite the same really!
Well done to you as well.:D It takes a big shake up to do but as you say well worth it.Blackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?
