I can see where the other poster is coming from, but it's not like your savings are going to be that significant is it? I've got debts and I have joined this 365 challenge, I'm using mine to save towards next Christmas, otherwise where is the money going to come from? It's going to be a weight off my mind next December. So - I see your point of view too.
Thanks, i don't think closed seems to understand my point of view.
Loose change and £1 here and there isn't exactly going to make much of a dent in a £250 debt. Whereas if i save it up till it gets to something like £40 then that will make a real dent in my debt.
At the end of the day i am only managing to pay £10-£15 a month to each debt, which is the minimum amount. So by doing this i'm hoping to knock it down a bit at a time, which will be much more motivational to me, actually seeing a chunk come off it!
Anyway i managed to get an extra shoft in work today, 9-6 at time and a half, meaning £73 for working today
But i had to get a taxi to and from work, no way in hell i am walking down my hill with the ice! So £3 each way. I'm still £67 up
Work was a nightmare, as im only used to doin 4-5 hour shifts
Spent just under £2 all in on my breaks today, as we a staff canteen, got a coffee, bottle of lucuzade, roll and sausage for breakfast and a chicken steak and chips for lunch, as well as a wee cake bar
Also spent a fiver on fags.
Gave my mum her £150, she gave me £50 back to go towards the catalogue0 -
Just been trying to organise the exact amount of everything...so here goes:
Very Catalogue: £87 (£288 is on a bnpl feb2011 which my mum is paying off and £120 is on a bnpl deal sept2010)
Kays catalogue: £150 (bnpl feb2011)
Topshop Card: £224.82
Dorothy Perkins Card: £251.05
New Look Card: £84
Old O2 bill: £90 odds
Old Student Overdraft: £1040
total: £2186.870 -
So today, has been uneventful.
Ended up spending £30 last night on gig tickets for me and my friend for my birthday
It'll be my birthday, so she is giving me the money back when i see her tomorrow!
Finished my report and personal reflection, due in on Thursday! Now just one report and another personal relfection left, both due in on the 13th.
Not going anywhere today, our shower is broke
So i am still in my pj's waiting for someone coming to fix it! It better get fixed, i can't cope without a shower!
Found £1 under my bed, so it's gone into my tin. And my mum bought me an underbed storage box thing, i don't think it will fit under my bed though, cause it is full of junk and shoes! lol0 -
Shower still not been fixed yet, so went to my friends to use hers. Ended up staying for a bit and having dinner and watched a film.
Was planning a NSD today, but had to get a taxi home as it is was too late to get a bus. So £3 spent.
Would have usually stayed at hers, but i am working tomorrow and didn't have my work uniform. Even though we both work in Morrisons, we have different uniforms, so i couldn't even borrow one of her shirts!0 -
Just a thought but you seem to spend quite a bit on taxis, £9 so far since you have started this diary. Is there no other cheaper transport you could use - would save you alot of money!Biggest Loser Weight Loss: 13 / 20 lb0

I usually get a bus, but at the moment with the ice, there is really no way in hell i can get down to the bus stop. I live on top of a hill, then once i get down there, i need to go through a wee lane, which also goes down a hill. Both of these are a total sheet of ice! I got the bus last week a few times, and fell everytime i walked out my door.0

Have phoned up and set up a DD for BOS overdraft...scary stuff never had a DD before.
Man on the phone tried to get me to uncrease the amount, said i couldn't afford to. Then said he would settle the account if i paid £780, again i said i couldn't. He then asked me to make a payment today, and again i said i couldn't as i'd paid my min payment in dec, and Jan is due on the 17th, and is now coming out with a DD. Honestly!!!
Then phoned up and paid £14.82 to Topshop card, bringing that down to £2100 -
working 5-8 tonight, such a carpy shift! Wish i could just phone in sick0

I have to go into town today to hand uni work in
Means i am going to have to brave outside. It's alright getting a taxi to work as its only £3. But a taxi into town costs at least £10.
Still getting ready just now, shower is still broke, hopefully getting fixed today though!
Need to buy a few things in Boots. I used the last of my cotton wool pads this morning, and running out of cotton buds (need them to clean piercing), and i need to buy razors. But that is it, i am not buying anything else!
My best friend of off work today, so i think she might want to do something later, but as long as it doesn't involve spending! Might pop up to hers after i've finished in town, and get dinner and such at hers, instead of going out somewhere. Might tempt her into the cinema if she wants to go out, as i have a 2 for 1 voucher from those Lynx sets from Morrisons a while ago.0 -
Probably too late, but surely they have a bus service in glasgow. And £3 is £3, it all adds up, it must be less than a mile. walk on the gritted bits.[/QUOTE]
What gritted bits?! Don't know what Glasgow is like but there ain't no gritted bits where I am.
A bus would be a good idea though Littlepink, not sure where you are but I remember when I temped in Glasgow School of Art, trying to walk up and down that hill to it (can't remember the name) when it was icy was v. scary  And that was a light smattering of frost!0
