I have seen them in passing.
Luckily we don't have one in our local town.

they sell exactly the same stuff tescos or asda do it jsut cheaper becasue they buy in bulk
it s just the fact people see the name and thing its all tat becasue its a pound its totally not true yes there is some tat but youc an get the same tat from other shops but most of it is really good
and my parents have a really upmarket town and they have a poundland and its full of fairly upmarket peopleReplies to posts are always welcome, If I have made a mistake in the post, I am human, tell me nicely and it will be corrected. If your reply cannot be nice, has an underlying issue, or you believe that you are God, please post in another forum. Thank you0 -
Who really cares if other people want to be snobby about pound shops? No-one is forced to shop there. It's a free country.0

Middle class Mary conspiring that she has to shop there to make ends meet. What a load of bull faeces.
It's like any other shop, some bargains, some crap and some stuff you can get elsewhere for cheaper.
I am a bit of a poundshop snob I admit, I get claustrophobic in them because they are stocked so full and I usually come out with a bag of stuff I don't need  But, they do have their place in the highstreet and if your sensible they do save a you fortune if you needed the item in the first place.0 -

Did you put her right, she is a friend afterall
Did you admit they were from poundshop or did you let her beleive your husband was on a good wage?;)Trying to be happy by accumulating possessions is like trying to satisfy hunger by taping sandwiches all over your body - Geoege Carlin0 -
Poundland is my Sock Saviour, so many colours and varients, currently got purple and black slipper socks, sooo cosy. That and nibbles are fab in there. I've had some other bits and pieces there (cushion covers etc)
In all honesty, if I find a town with several pound shops in, i'm happy as larry!! (Ilford/Walthamstow)~*Cerenia*~

"There are no fresh fruit or vegetables. It seems vitamins are the province of the well off"
what an idiotic article...did anyone tell this stuck up tart that poundland is not a supermarket?
i dont mind a look around £land but i rarely find anything i need, our nearest one is like a placcy-crap factory! they occasionally have a bargain though you just have to sort through all the toot to find them! (like most shops i suppose!)0
