£64.63 spent in Mr M last night. Shelves quite well stocked and store not busy at all. This should last us at least a week apart from fruit as we eat loads of the stuff. Got huge jar of coffee, dog food, beer for DH and laundry liquid which always boost the total up.
Total spent this month so far £95.63 out of £300 so things are looking good so far.Save £10,500 - £2673.77 - 25.5%
Pay off £7000 - £1743 - 19.4%
Make £2021 extra income - £99.750 -
Hi everyone,
Couldn't agree more with Nessa56, this forum is revolutionising the way I budget, buy and cook. My DH says we are eating better too! We're certainly both cooking from scratch more, freezing extras and generally being less wasteful - the amount of food we used to throw out was scandalous, and just seems so unneccessary now - guess its all in the mindset. I'm hoping I'll still feel as positive & motivated a few months down the line :-) Bust my budget for week yesterday as got a chippy for the kids cost £8.50, and decided to buy a loaf of bread (rather than ask MIL!) cost 83p Arggg, however as my monthly budget is £400, hoping to recoup the overspend. we'll see how that goes......Will have to update my sig as well!

(I use the breadmaker but only mix it to the dough stage, knead for a few minutes by hand, place in tin and let rise for 30 mins then cook in the oven - this gives a better shape loaf and seems to have a better texture).
Keep warm everyone.

This is how do my daily loaf as well as I don't like the shape of the loaf when baked in the breadmaker. I have a tin the same size as the supermarket split tin loaf, and make a batch of dough using 20oz flour, this is just right for this size tin.My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
been to the co-op today spent £41.18,
£5.80 in the pet shop for bedding for the guinea pigs,
£8 in the veg shop
£8.80 in the butchers
- approx £63 in total. I should have enough for the week0 -
DH did shopping last night. I did him a list and expected the bill to come in at £60ish but he said it was £120 !!! He has got a lot of 'store cupboard basics' for if the weather makes it hard to get out and he always buys lots of stuff I don't.
Tell you what - we now have enough tinned tomatoes/tomato soup/baked beans/corned beef (which I don't even like!) to sink a ship :rotfl:Flymarkeeteer: £168 and counting0 -
DH went to Mr T yesterday, then Mr M today, so up to £84.27 spent on food and household items for this month. This is pretty good as we still have a stuffed freezer and cupboards! We now have more than enough food for the next week or so, including milk & eggs...yippee!
DH took DS1 back to Warwick Uni (only an hour away, so not too long a trip) early afternoon, the roads are not too bad between here and there thank goodness!
Dsis1 is on her way north with her OH and DS today. They have driven from Slough (Dsis2's place) and are staying overnight in Blackpool with friends before heading north again tomorrow...it is a long trip they are doing...all the way back to Wick, Caithness (17 miles south of John O'Groats!!). I can see them spending another night somewhere else, as travelling in the dark north of Inverness in this weather is not a good idea at all!! They had planned to fly both ways from Inverness to Gatwick, but as Inverness Airport was closed when they wanted to fly south (31st Dec), they decided to drive down...the maniacs!! Still, they have made it without incident so far......!
Right, off to see if the liver & onions for tea have defrosted, as well as the mashed potatoes...a freezer tea tonight! Also using up some mushrooms and the last of the sprouts...should be ok as they froze last week in the lean-to outside the back door!!
I should have more room in the freezer after the weekend and can then fill up with some cooking/baking I plan on doing Monday.
Enjoy the rest of the weekend everyone, keep warm and snug if you can.

[QUOTE=huston_kw;28639229.
I got loads of whoopsies including a few 6p (4pts milk:j), loads of bread, 1p fruit (pears/ lemons etc) etc etc.
It should of cost 24.22 but I saved 22.42 and only paid 1.80:money: very please with that. I think this is the most I've saved on whoopsies in one shop.
