Need to pop round to DD1's and mind GS for a wee while, so will nip into the co-op and get some lovely smoked bacon to make ham and egg pie for tea so that will be the start of my January budget - I will buy nothing else though!!!
    Best wishes to you all,

Spent on food shopping - was really hoping not to but got things like bedsheets and cleaning stuff. Spent £76.01 but don't expect to have to do another big shop for a couple of weeks. Just get a few bits

Had my first delivery from A*da yesterday - basic stuff but it was fine - and I got free delivery.

I decided to vote with my feet as I was so cross at T*sco cancelling my order on 22/12.

Then when I looked at my emails after New Year T*sco had apologised and sent me £15 of codes with no minimum spend. I can't pass those up can I? I feel such a mercenary!!

Anyway today I have to list stuff in the fridge/freezer and store cupboard and process stuff left over from Christmas. No meal plans yet - will wait for inspiration to strike.

And I will catch up with this thread eventually!
August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.

  • Well got my first shop of the month yesterday, had a few stock items that I needed but it only came to £27.76. so not too bad. Got quite a bit of meat in the freezer so hopefully I can have a cheap month.

    Take care

  • I've ordered my first big shop to arrive Tuesday - £240ish to last us at least two weeks. I forgot to account for dd's birthday party in my original post here - I've budgeted £50 for it in our main budget - so £40 of this shop is party stuff & I won't count it for the grocery challenge.
I've got a fair bit in the freezer already, and am cooking 3x most meals this week, which should fill the freezer nicely & mean that the second shop of the month will only be a little one to cover fruit & lunch bits - we should have all the flour, dried stuff etc that we need for the month.
