Hi everyone :j Good luck to all GC challengers!
Hoping for an GC NSD today - if we haven't got it, we're not having it IYSWM. DH already walked to get the papers, but that doesn't come out of the GC budget (that's entertainment :rotfl:). Lunch will be HM lentil/veg soup or sandwiches, supper something made with l/o chicken l/o ham l/o turkey l/o stuffing.....l/o veg ...can you see a theme appearing here?
KB can I ask about the recipe for these kebabs please? I'm supposing it's using the lamb you mentioned, but perhaps you can post the recipe - no rush, when you're feeling better.
And wow Pink Numbers - you put me to shame with that organisation!! Can I ask where you got the plastic tubs with coloured lids please??New start JAN15 - NOT BUYING IT 2015 . Long haul DFW #145 : 2011 DEBTBUSTING : £5500 OD GONE, £2000 OD - GONE £93,610.30 cc & loan debt - GONE 27.6.14 FINALLY DEBT & MORTGAGE FREE :happyhear0 -
Thank you for all your kind comments
I'm sure I actually have OCD when it comes to freezer organisation!
I got the blue plastic tubs from lakeland, and the others from BM homestore. I started off with the lakeland ones (about £6.50 for 10) and then was shocked when I found them in BM homestore for A POUND for 10. Ok, so the lid is thinner so you take more care, but the lakeland ones aren't six times thicker/stronger!
You don't actually need to put that much effort into keeping such a drawer. I spend 10 minutes with some cardboard, re-living my blue peter years to make the dividers. The dividers are crucial in allowing me to stack 4 tubs high. If it weren't for the dividers, the tubs will be EVERYWHERE.
The batch food processing, putting into tubs and labelling (a 2 minute job) only takes few hours (half an evening) once a month. Saves me hours in chopping and cooking them individually0 -
Wow Pink Numbers....I need you to come and organise my freezer! thats fantastic.
I spent another £3 on bits so down to £191.00 for janWeekly Spend Challenge £200 -
An AHA moment today. I spotted some ' bargain' thermal underwear in Morrys. Thought 'Oh, what a bargain, that will save on the heating bills so I should stock up now, and so on...'
Then I thought, ' But I already have a set of thermal underwear which I am using all through the winter months. (They DO get washed, before you ask). So I don't really need to spend money on them after all' :j
Result: saved money by NOT buying a bargain.:p0 -
Been to Mr T's today in the ice and snow and managed to spend (trumpet fanfare!) a measly £28.50!!!!!:T:T
That's about half of what I usually spend in a week - granted I took a list and stuck to it with only one or two extras (both bargains) and did only actually buy what we really needed but still I'm chuffed to bits!
I'll need to get more milk in the week but that should be it for foodstuff, cleaning products and toiletries until next weekend.
I really want to come in on budget if not under it this month so its a good start!0 -
thanks for that kitchenbunny going to have some for lunch.

Mr S shop was delivered signature updated with toyal spend for the month so far. Due to the snow the driver was late so I have a £10 voucher to spend on another online shop before the 23rd. Very handy indeed.Sealed pot member 735

CherryPie - good luck with the Interview tomorrow, careful with the driving, I know the roads are bad up there as I have family who live up that way.
pink_numbers - love the freezer drawer, so jealous, reminder to myself, get more organised!;)
Dinner tonight is a whoopsied Free Range chicken I found when sorting the Freezer, having roast potatoes, parsnips, carrots and brussel sprouts with it - can you tell I'm using up veg lurking around?!
Also emptied out the Salad drawer, will be making some Tomato sauce to use up loads of toms left and have some peppers which I will slice and freeze to add to curries etc.;)
Hope you are all having a good start to the New Year.:D"WASTE NOT, WANT NOT!"GC for OH, myself, DD18 & DD16 includes Toiletries, cleaning stuff & Food.
