Ooh that's better...........had my shopping fix last Thursday.
First supermarket shop since before Christmas, went to Lidl and MrMorr, spent £128:eek: BUT my total spend is now £148.26.So we have still got £31.74 till the end of Jan,must be do-able as store cupb'd,fridge and shop-in-the-shed are all straining at the seams.
Made 16lbs of Misers marmalade yesterday along with 3 pots of a very fierce mango chutney(will do for DD2,she can cope with it!).I bought mangoes in Lidl-29p each so had 9,bit under-ripe.
Does anyone know how I can ripen them?Is it shove them in the airing cupboard with a banana(in case they get hungry:rotfl:)or will they never change, then go all black.
Well they won't be wasted will have to do something with them, but will use a different recipe for chutney.
Cooking today, vague meal plan for week.
Roast chicken for lunch, salad and something for tea-fancy leek quiche but OH not too keen.
Just remembered I have 'ham' off 2 bacon knuckles I bought in MrM.Cooked in SC,then stock used to make pea soup(nomnom and 2 portions in freezer)
Some sort of soup for lunch Mon,left over roast for tea.
Bit of a pattern really-how boring/predictable-I work all day Mon,Tues,Wed and home for lunch(1 hour-ish) so has to be quick and organised.
The other days its whatever-there-is into something OK.
Yesterday was so nice I thought it would be right for tidying the garden today-black as a bag out there now so don't know what its going to do.
Have a good day all

The total might have fallen by the wayside, but I'm determined to limit my spending as much as I can. There should be one more big shop before the end of the month, and I want it to be as cheap as possible. However, we need to go to the shop today to buy some baps and salad for tonight's tea.
Homemade chicken burgers with baps and salad. It was a way to use up a bagful of breadcrumbs I had in the freezer. Here's hoping they're tasty, as I've never made them before.
Have a thrifty day, everyone.

Good morning everyone,
sorry haven't managed to keep up with thread this month but I still have been trying hard with GC.
I am still on budget and have been buying some super whoopsies although I must admit I was tempted in M&S on Friday evening.
Received a nasty shock when my bank statement arrived the other day. Must have spent a fortune on gifts and treats in December e.g theatre tickets. Thought I would have some money to transfer into building society this month but alas it is not to be. So will have to keep a close eye on what I am spending on other areas and not only GC.
I know all the theory re sensible and non clutter present giving but I tend to be impulsive in this area and enjoy treating my family. Anyway will have to remember that treats do not have to involve currency!!!
New Year's Resolution No.65 - Try to resist impulse spends on gifts and treats. It takes a long time to eat an elephant and I'm doing it a bite at a time!!!0 -
Morning all,
Hope this morning find you well.....
Haven't been as tight with my tracking as would like, so will estimate that I have spent another £150 in random trips to places.
Have had another 5 NSD's so will pop off and update my sig.
Will try and catch up with the thread later this evening.

I have gone over budget though as the milkman showed up for the first time in 10 weeks! I am going to start chucking a few pounds in a tin each week as these big spends when he can be bothered to show up are really hurting my budgets. My self & hubby; 2 sons (30 & 26). Hubby also a found daughter (37).
Eldest son has his own house with partner & her 2 children (11 & 10)
Youngest son & fiancé now have own house.
So we’re empty nesters.
Daughter married with 3 boys (12, 9 & 5).
My mother always served up leftovers we never knew what the original meal was. - Tracey Ulman0 -
