2 shops today, at lidl and coop,
got more icbinb for the freezer from coop, and more loo rolls, they'll last for ages but getting into the mentality of buying cheap stuff when i can rather than paying more later..
lidl bought loads of their freestyle cola as drinking the branded stuff and this is less than a quarter of the price, so better buy that than the branded stuff.
also bought mangos on offer in lidl
whoopsied bread in coop..
spending over where it should be for at this time in the month but got freezers and cupboards full so need to buy very little really, milk and f and v would see me to the end of the month if i could stick to it!
£83 to last the month incl a meal out for 3, plus to cater a buffet at the end of the month for 12. Will need to check the freezers as to what i can make with what i have...
the cucumber recipe, i'll do a bit of online research now and come back to you in a bit.

Hi All,
I have been away for the last two days in London and unfortunately had to buy my dinner last night, which was £5.30. Other than that, every day this week so far has been an NSD.:j
Not sure how we will go on over the weekend as I am away at a training weekend (teaching it). However, whatever I spend will be returned from those employing me for the course as exenses.

Spent £1.33 today. Went to Sainsburys as noticed Fairy was on offer, so got a bottle of that for 65p, a TV guide and a packet of pitta breads reduced to 19p (just need to cram them in the freezer now!) Picked up 4 recipe cards too so will add them to my collection later.Grocery challenge - Nov: £52/£100

That's another NSD chalked up for me (which is good, because I'm skint). I actually got carried away today and didn't eat my lunch - ok, so I have it for lunch tomorrow, but I really should have eaten it. Tonight's tea was a lovely shepherd's pie made with the leftover roast beef from the weekend. Following Tuesday night's adventures with a mincer (from why my arms are still aching) I used the beef up with some tomato puree, herbs, onions, etc and lots of lovely mash on top. Mmm, tasty.
Have a good night, everyone. Hopefully another NSD tomorrow!

If anyone has bought the Nouvelle toilet rolls in CoOp for £2.50, can you remember how much the original price was please? Updating my spreadsheet and I know they were on offer but can't remember the original price. Also the Finish dishwasher tablets - 60 for £5. Think the original price was £13 something. It's too far for me to just go back and check.
Thanks in advance

Evening all,
nsd today but wil have to go and get some eggs tommorow from the little farm shop. Poor dh has had 4 teeth extracted today (rather him than me) so is on a soft diet, have done a big pan full of carrot and lentil soup but will need some eggs so he can get some variety for next day or so.
Am getting some form of cabin fever, as feel like have been stuck in for weeks with the weather, all i do is stay in or struggle through the roads to work. Day off again tomorrow but dont fancy wasting it indoors again...
Oh well, off for some tea good night all x0 -
£52.50 yesterday at Aldi. Bought a huge butternut squash and some sweet potato that I will make some soup from.
I'm also going to be making some mango jam which will last through into at least next month.
Made the soup and it's lovely. Half the butternut squash diced, one large sweet potato diced, one onion chopped, celery leaves chopped. Thrown into a pan and sauteed in olive oil and butter until soft. Then added ham stock, salt and pepper, garlic, chilli and garlic flakes, herbs de Provence, worcestershire sauce, balsamic vinegar and chilli sauce and cooked until very soft (dropping to pieces). Added some milk and another knob of butter and then mashed before blending. It's very nice and four portions left to go in the freezer.
Made bread (dough from BM) and then left to rise on tray on floor (underfloor heating) and it was soon twice the size. Made a big difference as it's really light and fluffy.
Used the cheap Aldi mangoes to make jam (first time ever and it was easy). Chopped 1 1/2 mangoes and then put in a pan with about 1/3 to 1/2 bag of sugar (normal) and a spash of tropical fruit juice. Brought to the boil for about 30 minutes, kept stirring and then poured into a saved jam jar. Had a bit left over that I've put in a dish in the fridge. Can't believe it!.GC Jan £318/£350, Feb £221.84/£300, Mar £200.00/£250 Apr £201.05/£200 May £199.61/£200 June £17.25/£200
