bit naughty - dropped DD at her music lesson, and couldn't be bothered to drive back home so popped into Lidl (£21.00) - more cat food, fruit, cereal, tinned stuff (not beer) and lots of potatoes (50p a kilo) and a shiny (literally) new LED torch for £4.99 but not counting that - that's a toyI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour

also shredd and use to top a chilli then put grated cheese on top, we used to serve it like this in a pub i worked at with no rice or potatoe or carbs..
cucumber, there is a chinese way of preparing them of cuting into thin slices and salting them to draw out the moisture, then using them in a hot sauce to go with a chinese meal.. i can do a little internet searching if you like if you'd like more details but can't remember more myself
good luck

Another NSD today, but we did the main grocery shop of the week yesterday and spent £51.07, taking my total up to £127.61. I've updated my signature accordingly, and am wondering how I'm going to make the budget this month! We'll see

Been really good because of the snow- several (8)NSDs,milk and 4 pieces of fruit only!!!! oh and 2 leeks.
Store cupboard foods been interesting, but why have I got 6 small tins of salmon and 2 big ones(and no I don't fancy fishcakes)
Lost a few pounds as I have been walking to work-home for lunch and been taking approx 15 mins cos of snow,1 hours excercise a day and been using my Nordic poles.
That plus porridge for breakfast, soup for lunch, whatever for dinner AND NO Christmas chocs left-gave them all away ,woo woo.
Will make bread tomorrow, and have freezer rummage for lunch,I don't work on Thursdays so catchup day.
Seems to be thawing a bit, hope doesn't freeze before morning or roads will be rubbish again.
Night

Managed to spend another £6.92 on the way home from school yesterday on fruit, mullerlites and sweets for the kids (to many sweets at the moment - need to knock that on the head!)
T*sco did cancel me again yesterday so I've redone my shop for Friday with A*da - fingers crossed. I know it's the bad weather but T*sco did annoy me yesterday as the phonecall to tell us we were cancelled was just a pre-recorded message and I have had no emails from them.
Anyway I'm going through my mealplan (yes I have one!) and doing the meals first that I can get stuff cheaply for around the corner.
DD2's school is open today if we feel safe to travel (the text says) but I've just looked out of the window and it is cold, dark, snowy, icy and now foggy as well - I really don't fancy it!
Have a good day everybody.August Shopping Challenge. 26/8. Budget £250 Spent £256.81.. £6.81 over. So £0.00 a day left.0 -
well a NSD today for me as I only have to go out to take DGS to dentist this afternoon and no shops nearby to tempt me.Tomorrow I have a history afternoon in Gillingham, so I will drop into Aldi's to have a look at their super six offers. Its usually the only time I go near there as its only a few minutes away from Adult-ed place.I do like their inexpensive fruit and veg though and may stock up a little on veg for soups ect. I am so pleased that I have cut back so much with being stuck indoors because of the weather. I am getting so that I will really only buy what's essential at the moment and utilising what's in the freezer more0
