Im sure you will pass next time, just get some practice in, ive failed a couple of times myself so i understand what its like, change the insructor if you aren't comfortable with her,0

I know exactly how you feel, i failed my first test of my reverse left, i eneded up on the other side of the road, my own fault, i passed five weeks later second time.
The hour lesson before my test i did all the maneuvers with my instructor, hopefully your instructor should do all of these with you in the lesson before your test, if not ask him! For me it was nerves and lack of confidence in both tests. Good luck and if you don't pass this time or don't take this test get a new driving instructor.0 -

I have another test booked next week and have not done a left reverse since! I feel confident that I will fail! Mt instructor just says that my left reverse is fine and if I fail i am just not ready.
Think it may be time to look for another instructor?
Do you think I should cancel my test and look for another instructor or intensive course?
I can't believe any instructor would not have asked you again to reverse around a corner as that was the reason for failure.
For an instructor to suggest that your ability to reverse around a corner correctly and in full control when you clearly are not able to do so yet (you say you went onto the other side of the road) is appalling.
Remember, you should be being taught to learn a skill, driving in this case, not being taught to pass a test/exam, all to common today
If you are confident you are going to fail, you are presumably not confident to take a car out on a public highway alone.
Take more lessons to gain confidence in your driving ability. When you are confident, passing the test will come naturally."Now to trolling as a concept. .... Find an instructor you can talk to! If you aren't comfortable asking her to help you practise the things you're worried about, I can't see how she's helping your confidence or your driving.
(I had four fails and then passed immediately on finding an instructor I properly trusted and who listened to my wobbles without knocking my confidence. (She was great - instead of lecturing me about the technicalities she just used to shout 'mind that child!' when I missed an observation :rotfl:))
Best of luck

When I took my test in 1997, you only did 2 out of the 3 manoeuvres,
Three Point turn, reverse around the corner and reverse park.
Is it still the same now?
If so you may not even need to do the left reverse on your test.

Well i have decided to to sit my test with my current instructor. i have a lesson next week and then an hour before my test. i have had 2 lesson since my failed test but have spent most of the time stuck in traffic.
I am very confident in my driving but not the manoeuvres. I was hoping to get out with OH more but with the weather and now the kids are really ill that doesnt look like that will happen.
I am starting to take calms as i know nerves got the better of me. My examiner said all my 7 minors were in the first ten minutes so he could tell it was nerves.
If I fail this time I think i will take a crash course other wise I am in danger of quitting. My current instructor has took someone else on already and can never fit lessons in anymore. Also I dont think she is keen on doing evening lessons.
I just really need to pass as already have a car waiting anf have spent approx £1200 now!!0 -
I failed my first test with six minors and the one major being reversing round corner, i have to say however that i am glad i didnt pass then as looking back i was not ready to drive at that time.
i took till attempt four for my nerves to calm down and to feel real confidence behind the wheel. i passed then with flying colours and i now wouldnt be without my car.
i do think that instructors all too often focus on getting the person to pass their test rather than be ready for the responsibility of driving
OP i dont think that a crash course would be the best idea, you do need to find an instructor who will work on your weaknesses however and i do think that if the instructor is saying if you fail you are just not ready is a copout. if you are not ready she should not be putting you up for test
what is important is do you think you are ready? if so go for it, if not it can do more harm to your confidence to fail again and i would suggest getting a new instructor who listens to you and your concerns"The darkness has no answers"0 -

Yeah you only have to do two out of the three. OP good luck, on both my tests i had reverse left and three point turn, i am sure u will do fine if u make a mistake stay calm as if you flap you will do even more wrong, on my first test (only in sept) i was nearly in tears when i knew i had failed but when i passed i gave the examiner a massive hug as he was so nice, Good luck0
