That's right polystyrene eggs. I covered some last year, they were lovely, though I say it myself.0

I got some card ones which opened in two halves and had sweets inside last year around easter. Think they were from Morrison's
? They would be great to cover. Will keep my eyes peeled!

I just love the "springtime" book. Have only looked at it in the bookshop but I really like the large fabric covered Easter Eggs. I would love to make some.
Has anyone any ideas where I could get the egg shapes to cover. I thought I might find some paper mache ones or something but have looked everywhere.
Any suggestions of what else I could use? (Do they make such a thing as Plastic egg shapes?)
Hobbycraft usually have the polystyrine egg shapes nearer to Easter, not to sure about ebay but you will probably find them on there too.Jan lunch to work days 0/200 -
Thanks girls for all the "egg" ideas!
Alimarcle - I think the ones you said you found at Morrisons are more what I am looking for. I want a large egg (the size you would buy a normal easter egg in a box) that opens up into 2 half shells so I can put something inside.
I bought a beautifull paper mache one years ago that had glazed pictures all over it and opened up into 2. (it had a ridge all the way around so when you pressed the 2 together it stayed fastened - like a box & lid)
I bought a little silver antique bracelet and wrapped and popped it inside as an Easter Gift for my little niece.0 -
Years ago I had She Sewing book. It had a pattern for a Humpty Dumpty toy/pillow that I made. Obviously based on egg pattern which might be suitable for Easter. I found this link to something vaguely similar, which could perhaps be adapted for Easter Egg cover?

PS just found this which was more like the one I made, but mine was based around blue velvet
