Its the quilting bit that always confuses me. Once you've got you pieces together to make the top and you've layered it with the padding and the backing I can't quite get my head round the sewing them together and how you get it through the machine. I've seen quilts with random stitching, parallel stitching all sorts of stitching but I can't understand how you get all that bulk under the sewing machine as the arm of my machine is quite small so do you end up with it all bunched up when you get to the middle area of the quilt?

I'm sorry I don't think I could have this in the house it looks like a dismembered body with the black bag!

That dress is fabulous though, looks like it really fits well and I love the pleats!

I spent the last night repairing the hems of two pairs of trousers the *proper* way, with the machine blind hem stitch - very proud of myself! Yes, WundaWeb would probably have worked just as well but I can bask in the knowledge that I'm a clever seamstress :p

    Hi everyone!

Love all your stuff, not done anything myself yet, got a dress to make but justhavent had chance to get round to it.

Bit of advice required.....I have a top with metal stud type things glued on, its pretty much brand new, only worn it a couple of times, and it wasnt cheap! First time i wore it, put it in washer, and some of the studs came off, they were in the machine so ive saved them. Everytime i put it in the machine again, more come off, just wondered if there is a special kind of clothing glue i should use to stick them all back on with? I dont wanna just get rid as like i said it wasnt cheap and i love it!

:rotfl: Yeah it probably does. It's actually duct tape and would have looked better in silver but I could only get black.

It'll be fine with some lovely handmade clothes on though ;)

i'm not having much luck. My belts arrived for machine. perfect fit. it was like xmas. so i started doing the edges on my patchwork quilt. my lil machine is really struggling with going through the folded over material. i have done 95 % of it and my machine started smoking!!!!!!!! ah, hubby is a sparks so i made an emergancy call to him. followed all his advice and he think through his assement over the phone by what i said it is just the sheer strain the machine is under. so it is now sat in the bay window by the cool breeze cooling down .

so my patchwork quilt being finished is now a bit delayed, lol. but i wll get there. and i still love my little old singer.

Aw, bless it. I can just imagine it sat there with a cold drink :)
Let's hope it recovers when it's cooled down.
