The Sewing Room

I am beginning to wish I had more energy, as looking at all the pictures just makes me want to start sewing. Not that i have the money to buy anything at the moment, so its all going to be Upcycled if I do! But thats the fun part as well.
When DGD is in Nursery in the Autumn, (if she is still living with me until then), then I know what will be filling my darker days!,
Meanwhile I will have to get the energy reserved and sew when she has gone to bed. But usually by then I am beat!.
happy sewing to you all, I am loving looking at the ideas, and pictures.
Can only give odd bits of advise, until then.. I would post a pic but I think they'd look OK if you didn't look up close.
I'm hoping I might get time to make some cushion covers for my bed.0 -
Cuddles I like your popper boxes. A friend has asked me to make something for her dressing table that "looks a bit like those bread baskets" as she put it! I thought your popper boxes would be what she meant, I've been trying to work out how you made them. Is it two circles of fabric? I wondered if you could give some brief instructions.0

Cuddles do you have a template for the letters? They all seem so even not at all like if I hand drew them. I've made some simple triangular bunting but would love to make some name bunting. I also love the cupcake bunting. Do you have a template for that too?
I print the letters off on my computer and use them as a template.
I made my own template for the cupcakes. Two seperate pieces for the front and one piece for the back. They are very simple shapes.Jack of all trades ... Master of none

I need a new top and was searching the web and came across this great little site that has really easy sewing ideas. I think my husband will be 'donating' his t-shirts to my search for a new top this afternoon!

Been pottering on today and came across this fabric, it was a second hand childs dress, I took it apart and got loads of fabric from it as it was heavily gathered!
Anyhoo, thought it would make a nice little vintage looking coin purse:You can stand there and agonize........
